W210 E55 Power Steering Pump Replacement DIY?
Pump started leaking on my '02, thought it was reservoir seal. Replaced tank and seal, still loosing fluid.
I tried searching but nothing came up, but my search skills are questionable.
Anyone replace one? Any tips. Is it straight forward?
Thanks

Pretty straight forward. Take belt off power steering pulley. Remove bolts attaching pump. Only question is do you want a rebuilt pump or new one. You will pay 300 - 500$.

Found a FCP Euro You Tube video on procedure,
, is straight forward.
I found three different pumps available, a Luk, a Merle and a ZF with the Meyle being the least expensive, ranging from $169 for the Meyle to $312 for the Luk.
Anyone have any experience and recommendation on which pump to use?

Here's a link to Pelican Parts for E55 Power Steering pumps.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item3
Luk is an OEM supplier. Also listed is the genuine Mercedes pump. The prices for rebuilt pumps are also shown. I would go with OEM. You will also need the reservoir to pump seal.
Best of luck ...
