Radio or climate control??
I have 2001 e55 with the climate control below the radio. I seen pictures online where the climate control swith panel is above the radio. I haven't seen any of these cars in person. Just wondering what the other owners out there have??

W109 300SEL6.3, W123 280TE, W123 200T, W210 E55
climate control on the upper and radio on the lower is correct but as long as you have the automatic climate system both slots are the same and the harness is long enough to fit both slots. maybe someone disassembled the console in the past and just fitted it the wrong way back in ;-)
Sometime i see radiosolutions with automatic displays that flaps up, these solutions are also often mounted in the upper slot because otherwise the display blocks the climate control
