Is there a common Vacuum leak pipe
hi guys just a quick question, initially i thought it was my gearbox at fault but carefully paying attention and experimenting my driving methods i came to realise it may just be a vacuum leak somewhere within my throttle body, has anyone come across this issue or does anyone know of any common pipes to tear or leak. thanx

I'm not too familiar with this problem but to start off, of course take off the plastic cover.
If you haven't done this-careful- because the plastic clips are very brittle. Take your time.
Run your car outside, Not in the garage as it will be too loud to hear any hissing.
Listen for it and look around of course for any loose or unconnected fittings. Even broken fittings.
If all look ok, quickly turn off the engine and listen for any negative pressure hissing anywhere.
If all appears good, use a mild soap solution and squirt it around all hose joints. Of course if there's a leak it will bubble. Thats with the car on.
Also watch out for leaks along the hose just not only the fittings.

thanx again Frank N Sense ill try that, ive had a word with a friend of mine who owns a garage i think he's got a leak tester so might pop round tomorrow to get it checked.. hope its a leak, pretty sure its gona be a leak..

Check the vacuum line off the back of the engine to a hose running along the firewall from the passenger side strut mount area, I found mine hanging loose and not connected. It relates more to the HVAC than anything else, but that's the one I found an issue with.

Have you checked your MAF that sits on top of the throttle body?
Is it original? Ever been cleaned?
How does the car start and idle?
