before/after 3M single headlight restoration

just bought the car with one new headlight and one extremely yellow/scratched/pitted light. the 3M kit was the highest rated kit i could find and took about 1 hour total plus waiting for the drill's batteries to recharge. you sand the plastic with 300/500 then 3000 grit sanding disks plus rubbing compound then polish. cant argue with the results. the first pic kind of sucks but you get the idea of how yellow it was.

Nice ... Did the same on my w210

It'll oxidize very quickly in a few months and you may consider having both headlights wrapped in 3M or xpel to prevent this

When I bought my car, the previous owner had a windshield wiper indention groove streak in the windshield. I used a glass polish and disc sander to sand the grove smooth. I had the fogs out so I sanded them down too. They had many pits and chips- some too deep to sand out. The results? Better but way too many deep pits to look just like new and wasn't bold enough to continue sanding the deep ones out.

You can't really tape off like the headlights because a 3" disc does not fit well and will likely scuff paint.

Otherwise, I agree, not much you can do aside from replacement for results like the headlights.

You could if you have other business behind there or you could simply remove the bottom tray and remove the 3 screws holding the light in.
