Folks, I own a W210/S210 E55 AMG wagon, '01, in Obsidian.

It's fully stock, and I thought of changing the rims.

I understand that the stock rims (AMG Monoblocks, staggered setup) have the following specifications:

Fronts: 18x8 et31
Rears: 18x9 et35

However, when I imported mine from Japan, they came with a square setup, 18x8, ET31 all around (photo attached)

The ones I'm looking at ATM are Work Euroline DH:

Fronts: 18x8 ET38
Rears: 18x8 ET40

Is there a chance they'll:

1) Rub against anything, such as the brakes?
2) Look odd or too deep within the body?

If anyone has a photo of what a ET38 and an ET40 rim on a W210 E55 AMG would look like, it would be helpful, thanks.

They're conical seats, R14. The rims are aftermarket, Work Euroline DH.

the bolts will not fit your car. your car/hub uses 12mm diameter bolts and
what you have linked to on ebay are 14mm diameter

the wheels do not clarify the bolt diameter, bolt seat design, or hub diameter
so unknown how well they will (or not) fit your car

I want an E55 wagon so bad. I don't think I've ever seen one for sale locally.

Shukran! I bought it because of James, I loved his E55 sedan, especially after his supercharger.

They're 18x8 Work Euroline DH with PCD 5x114.3, and judging from the Work website, they accept cone-shaped lug bolts. I'll need to use hub-centric rings and PCD Variation bolts.

these are 8.5 x 18 et 38 with 5mm spacers in the front and 15mm in the back.

it is your car so it is your decision but personally speaking, i don't like the idea
of using wheels which were not designed for the car/hub

your w210:

bolt pattern 5x112m
bolt diameter 12mm
round ball seat 12
hub 66.1
offset 38-40

and what you're seeking to install is a wheel which is configured

bolt pattern 5x114
bolt diameter 14mm
conical, wobble bolt seat
hub ?
offset 38-40 (sorry, I just corrected this from 31 as I misread your post earlier)

so a lot of considerations and potential problems which may appear down the road

Judging from the photo, it seems it'll look weird without spacers and I don't think it's a good idea to use spacers and PCD Variation Bolts.

The hub bore is 73.1 which is standard across the Work Euroline range, therefore, I'll be getting hub-centric rings for the gap between 73.1 and 66.6.

Good luck, seems like a lot of effort for wheels that are not much different (in terms of size/width/offset) from what you have.

Also, I just read that another member installed ET35 18x8 rims in the front and they were rubbing, and the ones I'm looking at are ET38.

I guess I'll have to pass on these. Sigh.

My et38 wheels are 18 x 8.5 and they only need a spacer to prevent rubbing on the upper control arm bolt. 18x8 et35 should not rub unless you have the wrong size tires.

Yeah, you see, that's the problem. I can use spacers or PCD Variation bolts, but not both. And without those bolts, I can't fit a 5x114 rim on my car.

So unless I find a 5x112 or 5x114 rim with the right/ideal offset and design, I'm putting this thing on hold.

Why are you considering a wrong offset of 5x114 rim when Benz is strictly 5x112?

I can't find proper 18" 5x112 rims locally so I had to resort to considering a 5x114 rim.

Bro don't do it! Incorrect bolt circle will put stress on your lug bolts that could lead to lug bolt failure. Also, do those 5x114 rims have the correct center bore of 66.56?

Does "proper" mean affordable and you looking for a certain price? Perhaps save your money and get a set of custom made forged rims instead of unsafe 5x114 rims.

I have a budget set aside for cosmetic upgrades which never exceeds something like say, the cost of a major service, so I'm trying to stay below that. 5x114 rims are common here but it's very rare to find the right 5x112 rims, especially within your budget.

Those rims were 73.1mm, therefore, I was going to order aluminium hub-centric rings for them from Amazon.

I've seen scrapped the idea of these rims altogether and I'll continue looking for 5x112 rims in the meantime.
