Few E55 questions
Hey Guys,
Finalizing a deal on a W210 E55 and would love for you to help me out with these questions? Do you sit on or in the seat in a W210 E55... I know in a W211, you sit in them? Is it normal for evaporator core and RMS to go bad in a lower mileage car? Anything I need to know before pulling the trigger Thanks |
I've got a W211 E63 and have only sat on the seats. They haven't managed to envelope me yet, but the car could become sentient one day and the seats will absorb my power. I also owned a W210 E55 and managed to escape the lure of those seats as well. The current owner is married to that car so I believe the seats have taken hold of him.

so are W210 E55 seats as comfortable as W211 E55?

On long trips, the seats in the W210 E55 are more comfortable than the seats in the W211 E55. Also, when my better half is driving and I'm the passenger, I find the bolsters of the W211 seats tend to numb the backs of my arms.
Less than 2 hours, I'll take the W211 E55. 2-4 hours, it's a toss-up between the W211 and W210. Greater than 4 hours, I take the W210 E55 every time. The W211 is quicker, handles better, and is more refined (heat/AC, stereo). The W210 is more comfortable (softer ride plus less noise/vibration/harshness) and gets better gas mileage (24 vs 20 mpg). I refer to the W211 E55 as "Sex on Wheels" and the W210 E55 as "Russian Mafia Staff Car". |

Also I consider W211 E55 seating position as sportier where you sit low. Does the W210 feels more upright or does it also feels low? Thanks once again |
I think that if you are driving hard enough in a 210 to have to brace yourself with arms and legs you are probably already sliding sideways off the road into a tree. The seats are comfortable with wide bolsters; you will not feel like you are sitting in a race car with deep bolstered seats. The 210 AMG cars drive more like a cruise missile than a sports car.
