help needed ,i am being told every oil possible for my 2002 w210 e320 auto 722.6 box,,,have had limp mode problems for 5 years swapped 2 boxes now hopefully narrowed to conductor plate,have dropped it all out and cleaned like crazy,new filters,gaskets,ecu etc but now i need to know the exact oil for definate,have been told shell,mobile,valvoline, etc etc can someone please help with a suitable oil but not mb own as i do not want to spend to much more on the vehicle,,,,many thanks oh i am in the uk

Based on your ability to waste money on transmissions and conductor plates, I would say screw the correct fluid, I'd use a good stout.

based on garages ability to rip people off that are not mechanics !!!!! hence asking advice here but oh well looks like that was a waste of time as well

I run Wolfhead synthetic ATF in my trans. Been in there for 200k plus miles and still shifts flawlessly.
Im assuming you have replaced the electrical connector? Hope this helps.

In addition to the replacing plug for the wiring harness, clean the TCU with contact cleaner as well. Fluid wicks up the insulation on the harness and causes it to malfunction.
