Steering rack leaking from boots
2001 145,000+ miles. Was going to head out for a short drive tonight, power steering was whining. Put it back in the stable and noticed a lot of fluid underneath. I drove it yesterday and days before without issue or leakage. Reservoir is nearly empty.
Up on jacks, took the rear cover / skidplastic which was soaked mostly on the driver's side, fluid leaking out of the boot. I wiped everything down and started it back up. Fluid began leaking from the driver's outer shaft boot. That outer rod seams a little more loose than the passenger side. I did have to replace the driver's side lower arm and components about 40,000 miles ago.
Are there seals that are replaceable on this rack or must it be replaced? There doesn't seem to be any leaks anywhere else.
