Do I need a new transmission.
A couple weeks ago my son was driving the car to school and it quit at a traffic stop. Train wil go into gear but after a couple hunderd yards it would disenage. Towed it home and pulled the codes that were thrown, P0700 and P0701 or 02 I think. After sitting for a couple days it was found to be drive like normal around the neighborhood but decided that I'd give it a flush and changed the conductor plate. A couple days ago we began changing the conductor plate and let her drain overnight. A total of close to two gallons was drained. The fluid was black and there were FINE particles of metal at the base of the pan. Anyways got her button up today and took ker for a 20 minute drive without and issue. A couple hours later my son took her out and within 15 minutes tranny started acted up agaiin. If you shut the car off and let ti sit for min, then it would go into gear. Once in gear it would move a couple hundred feet, disengage and wont have any gears. Gave up and had it towed home, and pulled the codes, P0700 and P0120. Think the 120 may have been triggered whsn I gave it gas and it wasn't moving.
Could it be the transmmison fluid level or is it time to swap the tranny? I think the car has a few good miles left in her and don't want to junk it. She's been trouble free for the most part.
So what do you guys think?
OMG - finally got around to changing my fuel filter. Now it runs like a scalded cat
@Faast Did the plugs last week, and CPS and fuel pump relay is next. Then probably the front shocks that been watching me ever so often since before Covid!
Oh..still have to do a transmission service on this new/used box to include filter and conductor plate.
