There has been so much posting about the na 63 with 500hp that the 550hp with a pair of turbos sounds conservative.

Yea, it will replace the E 55. The E 63 will be the facelifted one end of 2006....
550 hp
850 Nm torque..............
Breaking system: SL 65 front 390mm
rear 360mm .......
7-G-Tronic AMG-Speedshift transmission
The car on the pic has only the engine and technic of the E 63 for testing reasons. It was a test car (I don´t know how you call that) Erprobungsfahrzeug called here by us in Germany.

Great picture and info.
2 things:
1) How come the test driver gave you the engine details? Do you know him that he gave you this info? They dont usually give details out like that
2) You say it will come end of 2006. Is that when the new AMG engine will make its debut or is that when the E class will get the new engine at the end of 06?
Many thanks

The great thing is the M5 is being released here with so much hype and all the while, MB is just waiting patiently. The M5 will probably end up as king of the hill for only a couple weeks before MB relases something else that will put the smackdown on it, LOL! Thats IF the M5 can even outrun the current E55. The E63 will definetly own the M5.

2005 SL55 AMG
I just hope that it really is a v8 bi-turbo. for the e63 to come out at the end of 2006 would make sense to replace the e55. Wasn't the w210 e55 only in production for like 3-4 years? but i doubt the e63 will be on a new chasis, just a facelift, new bumper...etc...the w211 has only out for like maybe 3 years? im sure it has at least 3-4 more years to go, until the new chasis.
so do you guys think it will definitley be a v8 bi-turbo....ooo....jus imagine the potential!!! :p

2005 SL55 AMG
i wonder what that thing is in the middle bumper vent??? doesn't look like a front mount intercooler to me. anyone have any suggestions or idea? and does anyone know if the 65 amgs have two separate intercoolers, one on each side for the turbos? or they have a singe front mount intercooler? i hope the e63 will have a big front bumper to accomodate a huge front mount intercooler. that would be so sick!!

211 E55(sold) & 80cc shifter kart
srew the m5 i don't think it will beat a current E55. I'm a little skeptic about that pic of a new 55. I don't think it would be out getting tested so soon.
