Michelin PS2's

Hello all,
I am in a bind. Ordered 19" momo fxl's and michelin ps2's about a month and a half ago for the beast. The wheels are in and now they are telling me that the PS2's are on back order and Michelin won't tell them when to expect to receive them because of the new Porsches. PS2's are stock on the Porsches and won't tell anyone else when to expect to receive them. Looking for 245-35-19 fronts and 275-30-19 rears. Anyone out there with these tires in stock? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gianster

I have S03's on my 19" and love them. You can not go wrong by putting S03's
on the car. Many of us like the S03's over the PS2's.

Try Costco or Tirerack. I find it hard to believe that the PS2 in on backorder. It could be possible, but hard to believe nonetheless.

Luke is a sponsor and great guy.

I'm not one of them but it depends on the roads in your area. The S03s on my clk couldn't handle the grooved pavement on South Florida's I-95 and tramlined all the time. I had a better experience with the TS-1.

Tirerack is sold out on the rears. The website says back order until 7-1 but they say will be longer over the phone and Michelin won't give a definite answer. The shop that I'm dealing with says the Proxes T1 are just as good and could have them right away, but I have never tried them so I am afraid to just settle on something since this is a big decision for me. Any Thoughts?

WOW...really sorry bout the faulty info.

Wonder what's up.

Only other thing is to try a massive dealer like Big O / Les Schwab / or Discount Tire.

They usually have massive warehouses and get get um in a day or so.

Thanks Jakpro,
Do you have website addresses for the companies you mentioned?
Thanks,
Gianster

PS2 in 275 sizes are backordered everywhere.

I have been looking for alternate tires for a while now.. Trying to fit 255 & 295 on my 9" & 10" rims to keep the rolling diameters the same..

Jakpro1 Jun 14, 2005 07:27 PM

Okay, if you want um...you are gonna have to work for um....but I found 2.

Globe Motorsports in LA has 1 size (275 30 19)

Open til 5:30 California time (310) 376-8866

Then 1010tires.com has one in stock.

1010tires.com Toll Free Number: 1-888-825-MAGS (6247)

Local Number: (604)270-4721

Sounds dumb....but it's this or wait over 6 weeks for them to arrive from France.

Good luck

The toyo t1-s has a tie in with Kleemann, so it's not an unknown item. You will have a chance to try a lot of different tires, because they won't last very long...and if they do, you don't need to be concerned about a performance tire.

I can get the 35 series for you but not the 30.

if these will work let me know, I have a tire account whe american tire distributors. I can have them tommorrow and ship them to you if you need and want this size.

Jackpro,
Thats quite impressive. 1010 has the only tire in all of Canada and Globe Motorsports has one but is checking on shipping options. They say they don't take credit card orders but we will see. Thank you very much for the research. The world needs more people like you.

Thanks again,
Gianster

If anyone is still looking for 19" PS2's, I ordered a set from Globe Motorsports (referenced above) today and they took a credit card and agreed to ship them no problem. They also said they had the 275/30/19's in stock and acted like that was perfectly normal. Kinda weird considering Tire Rack has now extended their estimated in stock date to 7/7 but I'm obviously not complaining. If someone calls me back in a day or two and says their salesman goofed up and they don't really have them I'll let you know.

Owners: I ordered some 275/35/18 PS 2 yesterday at Belle Tire here in Michigan and they arrived today and had them installed. What a difference, that infernal humming is gone and the lateral stability is sooo much better!Joker

Every set of PS2's I've ever owned were not NEARLY as good as the "good ol" Pilot Sport. PS2s are loud and they vibrated on every set of wheels I've ever owned.

Scrap the PS2s and go for the SO3s.

Sorry I'm New

I know it's stupid but what are S03's?

My local carwash pinch-flatted the sidewall of my Michelin PS2 275/30/19 on my E55 late March. They agreed to pay for the replacement tire, but it was backordered for 3 months. Both tirerack.com and tires.com did not have any in stock. Last I heard, the replacement tire is finally coming in this week. Tirerack is still listing the size as backordered until July 7. Hopefully by next week, I could be driving my 19" wheels again.

I have had just the opposite experience. PS were harsh and hard to balance. My PS2 are quieter balance perfectly and are significantly smoother. Maybe you had early iterations which weren't sorted out yet.

Has anyone tried the Good Year Eagle run flat tires, like the ones on the corvette? Sounds like a good idea.
