Lateral G'force Comparison PS2 vs. Conti2
Using my new G-Tech ProRR Meter we compared the maximum lateral G's of OLD Contis on the track circuit and NEW PS2 on a similar asphalt surface in the city. Contis were driven around the circuit at full drift around every bend, ESP Off.
Maximum lateral G's were 1.00, mainly due to the "semi slick" state of the tires, worn past the markers, which is much better than the various car mags skid pan readings, on new tires, of 0.84-086 G's.
Next we tested an almost new, but well run in set of PS2. At the point of drift max G's were 1.08. At a slower pace, with no tire squeal , 1.05 G's.
This confirms what we have all suspected for a long time. AMG fits OE tires which are second best on the E55, and down right scary on the CLS55 (Pirelli P-zero Rosso )
If you want to enjoy the handling of your car, stop complaining and get PS2's!

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
Thanks for the info. I suspected this from my driving experiences at the Challenge. The E55 has much stiffer handling characteristics with the PS2 compared to the Contis.

PS2 vs Nitto 555
Has anyone run the Nitto 555 extreme's? It seems to be a popular tire for the import guys that do quite a bit of street racing. Any thoughts anyone?
