Insurance Question

We went insurance shopping and are about to sign on with Hartford in a plan offered through AARP. Their rates are about half that for our current carrier. Has anyone had any negative experience with the company?

Farmers Insurance

I own a Farmers Agency here in So. Cal and have heard nothing negative about Hartford. If they offer you the the service and coverage you need, go with them. Anyone can offer you low price, but as you most likely know... you get what you paid for... Go for a company that offers you personal service, not an 800 question box!

I use The Hartford for corporate insurance. For the most part they have been very good. I had a customer file a $100,000.00 law suit against me/my insurance, it was a little tough with Hartford but it all worked out. I have been with them for 6 years.

I use Statefarm for auto. Just out of habit. Who is your current carrier?

I don't know what Hartford is charging you with the AARP and any other discounts you you may have... good driver, multiple car, homeowners etc. But I plan to switch to Costco Insurance after comparing their rates with the big name insurance companies, they are far less.

Try Farmers... we stated a new policy Oct 1st and it's really a nice product with a very competative price!

We signed on with Hartford. Our previous carrier was State Farm.

Thanks all for your advice.
