SLR performance from our E55's!!
Have done extensive research and see that w/K2 upgrades & w/IC pump we can easily expect 11.7's @ 122/123mph! I want 11.5's @ 125 on street tires. I've had Chris @ C2D in Tampa do some research for me as I had a "brainstorm" of an idea when studying the SLR drivetrain, that now appears not possible
My upgrades which start Monday @ C2D:
Kleeman K2 - ECU,Headers,Pulleys
Kleeman upgraded IC Pump
Forged 19x9 & 19x10 Wheels (CCW Wheels at 20 lbs. each- 32 lbs savings)
Evo Lightweight rotors (34 lb savings)
.....the unsprung weight savings in theory should give 1 to 2 mph's in 1/4 mi.
Upgraded snorkel
Investigating an added "cooler" for even greater efficiency(ala Evosport)
Now the Big added Mod:I was trying a 3.06 LSD Rear Diff
With that the 1/4mi 3rd gear would redline @ 125mph and would pull thru the 3 gears like a Freight train!!!!
Cory @ C2D informed me Yesterday it won't fit - different casing!
Oh well - I'm now looking into a 2.82 LSD - Should give me 1 to 2 mph in 1/4
Between the 2.82 and the lightweight wheels/rotors, I simply need 2 to 3 mph's, and I'll have my 11.5 @ 125!! Lets hope for the best everyone.
I'll keep everyone informed as to the progress of the transformation.
Rock: Thanks for your help with directing me to different lnks as well as bringing back your K2 write-up!!...Everyone else who helped direct me-Much appreciated!!
I think you may be able to hit your target with the mods you list. I know you will hit your pocketbook.
Make sure to get a baseline dyno as well as numbers at the track before your creation starts.
Best of luck and keep us posted.

As to the Quaife design,... I really don't want to be the Guinea pig.
The 3.06 I was inquiring about was actually a Benz/AMG design that they put into the SLR's. It just doesn't fit the E's.
As to the ratio-YES a 3.27 would be rippi'n in 2nd and 3rd-The issue there would be SERIOUS traction issues in 1st, + you would now have some high revvin beast on the hi-way (and I am consistently running 85-100mph
on long hi-way trips, ie: too many rpm's for me..lots of Gas
)

Moroso:
temp was 58 degrees
Good track conditions - engine "cooled" each run - 2 runs - stock rubber
no mods - traction control on - "manual mode" w/automatic shifting
12.41 @115.8 - 1.98 sec. 60'
12.36 @116.5 - 1.91 sec. 60'
I live 3 miles f/Moroso and have 1/4 mile "stripes" in front of my development on SR710 and I am consistently running 115mph+. (at least 50-75 times over the last 2 years so I have a solid base in 1/4mi. trapspeeds!!)

The track is @ Sea Level and in the winter months the air is usually real fresh and clean. It makes our E's run "Crisp". My 2 times @ Moroso are actually only slightly above average compared to some that I've seen. I see the common time's as 12.4's to 12.6's. Come down to Moroso!!
But it was all in the 60ft time - 1.787 - on stock tires -
Trap speed was only 114mph
100% stock car 9000 miles - the night before I traded the E for the CLS

Another 100% stock time of 12.16 for my car on the stock Contis. 1.85 60' on that run, but I have run a 1.77 60' on the stock tires.
