Did 2003 E55's come with NAV?
I thought they did, but a pre-owned dealer said they didn't. Can anyone verify whether that was an option or not?

No. They were pre-wired but they had problems so they canned the idea. Very few '03 were upgrade to Comand. If you want navi, you have to look from '04 and up.

late model '04s and on are better, since they have less electrical gremlins. i don't know if you want to walk from a deal, but try to get an '05 or newer. the early '04s had some more comand electrical issues than the newer ones.

Had so many issues that after almost 2 years MB bought back the car. Like jangy said "electrical gremlins" (as well as others) Here are but a few.... don't want to bore you to much. * keyless go did not always work (after 45 days in shop found a bad cable) this one was bad, actualy stranded us once. * trunk closer (would open after closing as if key was in trunk, but not constant) * bolster adjustment button did not always work on driver seat * sunroof did not always work. would have to hold button * gas nozzle clicks off before full. frustrating thinking you have a full tank buy it's only 1/2. * pass side seat fan makes noise * "check key battery" warning when batt was new * pass side mirror randomly moves to the wrong position * cup holders broke * car pulled to the right alignment issues? never figured it out * rotational noise ??? * slight vibration ??? * SC chirp (06 does not do it) MB said they would crush the car, so if you see a great deal on a black 03 "be aware" it still might be out there... if you have to do it (an 03) all I can say is "warranty, warranty, warranty love my 06' (feels more solid than the 03', tighter steering too) good luck these cars are a blast to drive! Wow, I had an '03 for 2 years/16k miles and the only problem I had (other than the brake recall) was the S/C chirp!! Although I wish the NAV was available, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another '03 if the price was right.

I have an 03 and had NAV installed along with SIRIUS. Works great. And my car has been fine too...24k and only minor issues.

Thanks crhait,the ifo was appreciated.
