i have been reading everwere that ps2s are the best! i researched BFG KDWs and they have the same traction rating! along with many other tires. so why are PS2s better? is it a personal choice?

They are by far the best all around tire I have tried on this car. There are a few new treads coming out from the other brands that I'd consider, but the PS2s are tried and true.

As reference, I have a full set of Pirellis in the garage that just sit. The difference in ride is worlds apart. I won't lie, the PS2s wear fast. Not overly so, but like any sport tire will.

I just put the KDW2 on the rear. Excellent tires, no complaints what so ever. It's amazing how much less of the traction control light I see versus the Conti's. However, is suppose to be a PS2 is a better all around tire. Better in rain and less noisier. I've heard the BFG's starting getting noisy after a few thousand miles. For me the difference in price ($210 per corner vs. $330) was worth it.

My experience has only been with the Conti's and PS2's.

The PS2's are worth it, no question. When they were new you could almost give full throttle in the wet from a stop and not spin them, incredible. Overall the traction and handling are amazing, in the dry they don't spin from a dead stop. I'm sure as they age this will change but new I was impressed.

The only downside is that they do not ride as nice as the Conti's and they are noisier. Its not annoying but there is a difference.

I just put a new set on today. Drove home and they felt great. To me they seemed a good amount quieter than the Conti's.

Most, if not all Z, W and Y-rated tires have AA traction rating.
I still would not fit 90% of them to my mother in law's car!
Stick with PS2's, they certainly do.

i would say the kdw2 has more outright grip than the ps2, i drove my brothers m3 on both, but the ps2 is a better all around tire but its also at a greater cost.

compared to the contis you cant go wrong w/ either

I went from PS2's to Toyo RA1's. I loved the PS2's but there wasnt enough traction. The RA1's are more of a track tire and I've never driven on them in the rain but they are sticky!

Yea, they are performance tires so they dont come in very large sizes. I have them on my 18" monoblocks. My 19's for the 55 will most likely have PS2's. The 19's on the CLK430 are crappy tires but I dont really care.
