Father/Son story. Unhappy ending
So I’m on my way to work this morning. It is well after rush hour and to my delight I pull up behind a new Porsche Boxter with its top down and looking very shinny and cool. The driver looked to be a young professional with his son next to him. I was imagining that Dad was probably schooling Junior on the virtues of owning and driving one of the worlds greatest automobiles.
As the light turns green, the Boxter makes a quick move to merge over a lane for the expressway entrance. I did not make any aggressive moves but decide to follow him at a leisurely pace.
By the time we are driving down the ramp I see the driver start to peer into his rear-view mirror trying to size up my Mercedes. I even see his son turn around in his seat to get a look at the car behind them. As we circle around the on ramp I hear dad in the distance saying, "Son, you are about to experience the power of Porsche."
As soon as we hit the bottom of the onramp, with a wide open six lane highway ahead, he guns it. For a fleeting moment I ‘m thinking....... I should just let this guy take me....... you know, son by his side thinking, " my dad’s the best!!!" ..........................and then we all go home feeling good!!!
Well the truth is, I could not do it. I down shifted to second, stomp the fast pedal and by the time this very short run concluded I was at least 25 cars ahead. I immediately slowed down for them to catch up but they exited the highway..............But!!! not before I heard Junior saying, " Dad when I grow up I think I may want a Mercedes.

Two nights ago going home from the office, a Boxter was following me, then at a light he pulled around so he could be next to me waiting for the light to turn. I didn't think he was going to go, but...he did. It was a VERY short race, I didn't think it was worth posting it was so anti-climactic.
I've had P-cars before (In fact my GT3 is going to be ready for Euro Delivery March or April), but what are people smoking while driving those Boxters?
Good story thought with the kid in the car.

Just a heads up on your GT3 fans...I just saw a test run on the last episode of Fifth Gear. Seeing that car take corners and wagging it's tail was nice...
