Low beam bulb replacement DIY??

Guys- is there a do it yourself thread that you're aware of? I have a non-xenon car and am looking to replace the bulbs. There's zero room to access and the manual does not help in the least. Please advise

I think the manual requests that a MBZ service center change the low beam bulbs- at least mine does but I have HID's.

As for room you should have enough to pop off the black cap and access the bulb housing??

Thanks Vic- My manual also 'recommends' that I take it in but honestly, I would feel like an absolute schmuck if I had to go to the dealer to get a bulb replaced! there's actually zero clearance so I think there should be a process of taking a few bolts off to pull the light housing out. I just dont want to tear into it just to find out there was a REALLY simple way!

You can do it yourself, it shouldnt too hard. Over the weekend I did a D2S bulb swap on my CL65 and it was simple on the passenger side and much harder on the driver side. I had Creative down in SD do the bulb swap. It looked pretty simple except for the small areas of access on the driver side but this was on the V12BT.

I swaped out my own but it was not easy but it was straight foward. The good thing was my hands are small. Be very careful with the filament, I bent mine a few times. Just don't brake it. I wish I took some pictures but I will be changing mine again soon. I will take pictures this time.
A brief rundown. First remove the black cap off the back of the headlight. It just snaps off.
The bulb and the igniter are attach together so you will have to remove them both. It is in three parts igniter, bulb and a outer ring. The outer ring attachs the bulb and igniter to the housing. Twist off the ring. Should be counter clock wise. Again be very careful with the bulb. Not to much space to work with.
Once out remove the bulb. If I remember it just sits in place. Thats the part I forgot but it will be self explanatory once you see it.
If very thing was done properly it should be one piece before you reinsert it into the housing.

I know I wasn't too clear but I will be doing it again once the weather gets better. Hope it helps

His should be even easier sans the ignitor (he has halogens). Thanks for the input.

Anybody know the Part # for the outer ring for a CL203 for both the passenger and drivers side? Or anybody know the official name of that part so I can refer it the dealer?

Go to the parts counter and have them pull up an exploded diagram of the lighting assembly then just point out the part you need.
