Airbox and engine cover????? What's up with that??? If you also had the air tubes I'd be really pissed.
Damn......I've obviously failed at *** KISSING 101.
Ya, I guess it looks nice.

....but I don't think that is the VRUS engine cover.....the weave on the airbox appears to be of superior quality.
Nice touch with the inlet manifolds......what colour is that?

Thanks for all the comments guys.
The air box is working perfectly. Just finished and haven't gotten an idea of butt dyno. My problem tends to be that I always expect the car to launch like a NASA rocket. You know the feeling you had the first time you floored it. I'm always looking for that first FIX! I need to get it to a track to really find out.
The engine cover is not Vrus, it is a coated stock cover. I got it from an MBWorld "old timer", some of you may remember Marcus Frost. He sold his E55 about a year ago and I bought it from him then. Congrats on distinguishing the difference. It not a perfect match with the air box but enough for now.
The tanks are powder coated with 38/30045 Rosso 302 Metallic. Hail Tennessee it cost me $100.00 total to get them done!

Any S. Bay guys here in N. CA I know of a good powdercoat shop here in San Jose. Does great work and prices are incredible. Has tons of car parts, wheels, frames for bikes. Family biz in San Jose for over 25+ years.

That looks so hot! I've got the R/T airbox and I would love to get my hands on the carbon fiber engine cover. Does anyone manufacture that piece? I just gotta have one.

Dan!!!! That looks awesome!!!!!
I am dying to install the candy apple red manifolds that I did.. There is also another member that got a set to go with his airbox.. he is in the process of installing.. the Red seems to stand off nicely against the CF... Wait until the matching CF airtubes & engine cover gets put on..

Rudyrono,
I've got matching CF engine cover & airtubes being made right now.. they are 2 weeks out from being here. I'll post pics of the new engine bay once I get them.. CF airbox, cover, tubes, and candy apple red AMG manifolds.

I was going to paint them and decided for $100.00 why not get something much tougher and will last a loooong time. Also, the shop did all the taping of the letters, screw holes and gasket area.
