Please welcome me back to W211 family

Bought this 3 weeks ago... designo mocha, ORIGINAL tires (should I be happy or sad? :D ), loaded w/ all possible options except... distronic (I never use cruise control anyway) and electric rear sunshade (it does have side rear sunshade... :nix: not sure why previous owner did not get it... a paperwork mishap I suppose) :( :mercy: :smash: :wall:

Other than the rear sunshade and front license plate (gosh... I hate the look... anyone has solution? Like a plug or something?), I love the car.

Haven't done anything to the car other than 160mph :zoom: (what's the limiter on this one? I thought 155mph... but I did not feel it bounced even at 160mph :nix: ).

Be glad on the tires - makes me think it was "babied". Looks awesome! Love the tan interior! What year/how many miles?

TK

zoink 04-05-2007 11:02 AM

Yes... I think it was babied.... but it also means that I may need to spend $1K for new tires pretty soon (30% tread left :( ). The dealer didn't budge when I asked them to give me new tires... :D

BTW, it's an '05, 16K miles.

Kev04C320 04-05-2007 11:17 AM

Nice car, I have the exact same car except for pano roof.

zoink 04-05-2007 11:22 AM

Thanks Kev... how's the surgery going?

I fell in love when I saw your car.... luckily, I've found the exact same one :D Was considering black... but could not find one to beat this car in terms of mileage/condition/price (the dealer way understated the options - only mentioned NAV and parktronic - and they didn't even know it was a designo... LOL).

BTW, is it called designo mocha or designo espresso? :nix:

vader 04-05-2007 11:23 AM

bumperplugs.com.

kiamcoj 04-05-2007 11:23 AM

Nice Car...I hate front license plates as well and since my CLK came with one I took the license plate holder off and just put a European Plate instead..I think it looks better than a state plate and I couldnt figure out any other way to use/cover those ugly holes...Have fun with your new beast.

I love the interior too.

JAY55 04-05-2007 11:49 AM

Thanks Vader! Wow... $25 a pair.... and I need 2 pairs, right? What a way of making money :smash: :slap: :D

zoink 04-05-2007 12:24 PM

Independent dealer... I would be hard pressed if MB dealer understated the options and didn't even know it was a designo....

Yeah, I will feel weird if MB dealer didnt know if it was a designo. Again, the more I see your car's pics the more I like the interior

zoink 04-05-2007 12:39 PM

I got it from BMW dealer.... may be they intentionally do this to make the M5 look more attractive... :D

ShocDoc79 04-05-2007 12:42 PM

Beautiful car Zonik! Welcome back and enjoy!

That could very well may be. A local BMW dealer near me was selling a white E55 with all options and low miles for a very good price. Nonetheless someone picked it up in a heartbeat.

Back on topic, great choice and enjoy your new ride :zoom:

The surgery went alright. Slowly recovering but have a deep hematoma in the left flank, which will take a little longer to resolve.

The package is called designo espresso edition by MBUSA, which include both the interior and exterior colors / trim. The exterior color is called designo mocha black and the interior color is called designo sand

Congrats on the ride..its beautiful! Just in time for my parting out sale. I have a few things left from my E55 that I am parting out. I have new SL65 rims and Euro command... Let me know if your interested!

Christian

zoink 04-05-2007 01:35 PM

Well, if you have the MP design full leather steering wheel, I may get one... I don't like the current steering wheel....

As for the wheels, hmmm... tempting. How much are you looking for? And pardon my ignorance, the SL65 wheels are plug and play w/o any spacers, right?

Any pics?

AdamG@NorCal 04-05-2007 01:51 PM

Zoink, finallly !!!!!!! Congratulations and welcome back!!!!!:zoom: :y

Wow, beautiful beautiful beast...

Right now I have Euro Command which plays DVDs and SL65 rims. These are the more aggressive SL65 rims. 19x8.5 and 19x10. Most SL65 rims are 19x9.5 in the rears. I purchased them for around 5k. I had them for 4-5 months or so... But took them off for the winter. So they ahve about 800 miles on them. Brand new tires and rims when purchased. Looking for 4k. Pm me we can talk.... These are plug and play. Uses the same bolts too.

Christian, nice wheels :y

I think the rear was a bit too wide for the tires, no? What size is the rear? I'm guessing 275.... 285 would be perfect but not sure whether it would rub or not... I use 275 on my old E w/ stock wheels - 9.5, I think...

This new E also has 9.5 for the rear, right? I think 275 would look just right....

$4K is a bit too much for me to spend right now.... I still need to sell at least one of my cars before spending more money on cars :D

Thanks Adam... once I'm used to the power and feel I need more, I may order an ASP pulley from you :D

Do you think I'd get problems from SA at Fletcher Jones if I use ASP pulleys? My SA is Joe D.
