Steve put the mirrors and lens on my car and activated the lens tilt feature on the passenger side mirror which is deactivated in the 2007s for some reason. His work is first rate.

We will be doing the same. R can't see too good and misses the parking assist feature.

MMMM? Don't you own an E55? What gives, you're not showing the E55 any love?:p:

I've just about got everything from Steve for now. I'm sure I'll be getting more for my baby in the next order. this run was for SDCrew boys to start catching up.

cicbenz 04-06-2007 01:24 AM

How much was the ipod link?

jangy 04-06-2007 01:25 AM

$250 (I'm pretty sure).

cicbenz 04-06-2007 01:26 AM

Thanks, is that pricing the same for all models?

jangy 04-06-2007 01:38 AM

I think so, but labor bcomes extensive on some models because you have to access the harness. the E is a 3 hour install, but you could (should) couple it to the AMG sills, since it is getting to the same are. The one we got is for a C Class, so it should only take an hour to install.

What is involved with changing out the flat for the convex lenses???

Looks to be a good mod.

I haven't done it or seen it done personally, but I have heard it is very simple. I'll know when i see it on R's car.

Very Simple ...Remove the Outer Mirror base cover then replace the Mirror Glass

Nice to see you S.D. guys getting safe mods. Have a good weekend.

What's the advantage of using the convex lenses? I drove one MBZ with convex lenses in Asia but did not feel anything better than our regular here

I don't have an AMG so how different would the install be? :nix:

What body style do you have. It has nothing to do with being an AMG. If it is an E, it is a 3 hour job. A C is a 1 hour job.

No I thought it was different because you said to tie it into the AMG sills but anyways I have a W211

mprsev 04-07-2007 12:13 PM

Now this is cool, I did not know that Steve had folding mirror for the E63 since the mirrors are a different style. Does anyone have pictures of what the power folding mirror look like on an E63?

What is the difference between the illuminated AMG doorsills from MB versus generic ones that I have seen on several websites?

MBH 04-07-2007 12:14 PM

Looks great jangy, please post some pic's after the install.

Thanks for the info.

mogz 04-07-2007 02:50 PM

How much are the folding mirrors and convex mirror for the 63?

I really want to get the tilt feature activated again... is Steve coming anytime soon to Norcal?
