For those of you that asked- I'm going to try to post a 'how to' dyno mode video on Youtube. I'll keep ya posted.

Having had 2 dyno machines I can tell you that you can make them read whatever you want. A fair amount of Dyno Dynamics owners have put in their own correction factor to provide an output similar to a Dynojet machine which reads higher and are more popular. Not saying that JBA did this, but after 1000+ dyno runs I can tell you that baseline (stock) numbers are not that important unless there is a problem with your car and you want to make sure nothing serious is wrong. Whp dynos are best used to see differences (gains or decreases) with mods/tuning/changes to ensure you are heading the right direction and doing it in a safe manner. Often times I think people get too caught up in the numbers. We have taken the same car to 3 different dynojets in the same day (consistent temp, humidity, IAT, coolant, etc..) and we saw differences of 5% between the same model dyno. 5% on this car would be a big difference and range. Now that you have a solid baseline, it will be great to compare the effects of any mods you do in the future. Just keep using the same dyno.
Now go out and drive it like it's built to be driven!!

First stock Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG runs 11’s in the 1/4 mile

March 15th, 2008
Rob MacNeil aka oldgixxer ran his bone stock Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG down the 1/4 mile during a private track rental at Atco Raceway in New Jersey last week. After a couple low 12 second shakedown runs, he managed to produce a record breaking run of 11.952 @ 118.32 MPH. Weather was excellent for the track rental with an approximate DA of -1600 during the runs and the track prep was good allowing for some aggressive launching. His 60′ time for the run was 1.83, which shows the car could have went even quicker with a more aggressive launch - providing the tires and track prep could keep the car from breaking loose.

This is a significant run since it’s been long thought that the E63 was not nearly as stellar of a “drag car” as it’s predecessor, the E55 AMG, due to it’s normally aspirated engine and comparatively less amount of torque. It just took the right car, driver and conditions to produce the first 11 second run. For comparison purposes, the quickest stock E55 we have was produced by Enzom running a 11.775 @ 118.69 MPH.

Click on the link below to check out the scanned timeslip, pictures and most importantly video, showing Rob’s E63 breaking into the 11’s, with the baby car seat in the back and all, congrats Rob!
