They are made to fit in the STOCK mounting location WITHOUT any cutting, hacking ,slicing, or wiring changes. The paddles were designed to be a "button" replacement and have no electronics.

The first production ready prototypes were installed and tested on a car for quite a few weeks to make sure durability, quality, and overall look & feel were perfect!

We are making them in 2 finishes.. One finish will be Piano Black, and one will be a standard aluminum look like the factory piece. They weigh more than the stock plastic versions but a little less than the heavier aluminum paddles.

Alot of attention was paid to the click and feel to make them as perfect as possible.

These will work in the following cars: C(203) CLK(209) E(W211) CLS(219) SL(230) CL SLK 55/65 AMG for sure. Possibly newer 350 550 models with buttons.

Let me know what you guys think... I really value your input..

Here are a couple of pics of the piano black versions:

I received my paddle shifters for my SL55 and attempted to install them without any luck and I am quite adept at auto anythings!!! It did not work and I totally screwed up the downshift button. On the positive side the upshift worked.

I inquired through the AMG private Lounge and went down the merry road as to the proper part numbers. As it turned out all of their info was incorrect until they finally acknowleged that I needed to buy the entire wheel. I had almost given up that the only solution was to get the entire wheel at a cost of $ 2,200 and that was something that I was not going to do. As an after thought I called my Service Advisor and asked if the button that I broke would be covered under warranty. Today I had my new wheel installed under warranty and am again a 2 button user!!!!

I continue to be impressed with the service that I have received from MB of Sacramento on the 5 cars that I have purchased through them. As an aside I had 2 Lexus during the same time period and their service, shall I say politely say"SUCKED" in comparison.

I'm not about to read this entire thread...

How much are these? I see that they fit the W211 E class.

And about how long will it take a shop to install them?

You should probably read the last few pages, if not the entire thread, but I can sum it up for you.

They are not made for the E class. Install times & success appear to be hit & miss.

They look cool, but I will avoid them until proven/tested.

Thanks Andrew.

I asked because I saw in the quote in post #529 that they fit the W211. These look cool and I think that if you use the paddle shifters at all you need these as apposed to the buttons. But +1 on waiting. I dont want to mess up my car.

Too bad a refund wasn't available by Vrus. I bought them and then decided against them and couldn't cancel them even though they weren't shipped yet.

MB E55 AMG-2005
I would like to have a set as well...

I did not read the whole... I have a 2005 E55 (w211) and I would like to purchase a pair of steering paddle shifters. Was the manufacturing ever completed and is it availble to purchase? I have not seen any photos but based on some of your feedback it is a nice addition and high quality. Please let me know the details to purchase and if you could share some photos it would be great.

You're better off just getting a set of the E63 paddles and swapping in the switch from your OEM buttons. The E63 electronics switch doesn't work with our E's for some reason. A bit of fabrication is required (milling down the ridges in the paddle as well as the plastic retainer and filing/sanding down the PCB that the switches are soldered to). There is a DIY on this board that shows you what you need to do.

It's what I followed to do mine.

Here is some info on the module that allows plug-n-play replacement of the old style buttons with the new AMG aluminum paddles.

You can contact Ivan at sales@dctms.com

or you can send me a PM if you have any questions
