Spark Plug change at 13,690 miles ?

Hello:

I have an 04 E55 totally stock that needs "G" service.
Out of curiousity, I went into the menus to see which particular "US Service" numbers FSS+ decided was necessary.
The following showed up -

US Service 2 - Air cleaner
4 - Dust filter
5 - Fuel filter
6 - Interior Charcoal filter
7 - Spark Plugs
9 - Replace Brake Fluid
10 - Sunroof
12 - Oil & Filter
14 - misc checks + check brake pad thickness

What caught my attention is Service 7 (replace spark plugs) !
With only 13,690 miles on the odometer, this seems quite early for a plug change.
Would like to know when other E55 owners are changing their plugs.
Is there something wrong with my engine ?
I don't consider my driving style particularly aggressive, but I do own an E55.
So I have my occasional moments.

Thanks in advance for everyone's feedback.

06 E55, 03FORD P/S,01 E320-4M,99 ML320,O4 E55,05 RUBICON UNLIMITED,
Your Car Should Have The Factory Maint. Program, unless You're Over 4 Years, Let The Dealer Do It, They Won't Do The Fuel Or Plugs Because Of Time And Mileage, And If They Do They'll Get Debited And You Get A Free Tune-up.brake Fluid Is Every 2 Years Regardless Of Miles. The Same W/ The Air Filter 4 Years 60k. Hope That Helps.

Lightbulb Plugs

Speaking of Spark Plugs...

I Wish someone would do a comparison to find which plugs work optimally in our cars...

ND --- NGK --- BOSCH.

Then the gimmick plugs like the E3's these are supposed to boost power...

In my dragracing career, I did do pulls on the superflow 901 with different plugs waiting till the block cooled to identical temps, and having exactly the same air... And found the NGK V plugs worked constantly best in most RPM ranges. Wish someone could do this with our engines.

The Bosch Platinum/ Iridium 4's look promising.

Best,

Could you please elaborate on why FSS+ would "recommend" plug replacement (Service 7) while the car is still under warranty, yet the Dealer won't do it ?

Also, is it abnormal to have this pop up so early, with <14,000 miles ?

Thanks.

My Guess Would Be That At Some Point, The Fss Might Have Been Reset After An Oil Change Only Or A Poss. Coding Issue In The Assyst System Or Ic. I Would Really Have To Read Up On All The Determinig Factors For The Services.

As much as I hate to admit it, I to have found the NGKs performed above all others. This finding was on N/A marine engines 8 to 11 liters in a test cell. The big question regarding our 55s is will the twin plug diminish the difference between good and bad plugs?

The FSS will recomend replacing the plugs. The techs have the list of all the US services. It will usually say every 2 years or 60,000 miles or something to that effect. Seeing how your car is over 2 years old, FSS simply calculated that it is time for you to change your plugs. Obviously since you only have 13,000 miles, you need not worry about this.
