Possible Tranny Issue?

I was driving around a corner the other night, and hit the gas a little bit and the traction control triggered, then the tranny felt as if it popped out of gear. I checked the gear stick, and it was still in drive. I could not manually downshift with the buttons on the steering wheel or anything. I came to a complete stop, and it engaged again... has this ever happened to anyone? Any idea what it might be?

I have never had that happen, BUT, it would do that IF you put it in "N" at speed, then tried to pop it back into "D" to blast. I have never seen it do that without any input. Could you have hit a steering wheel button?

SAME EXACT THING happened to me too!!

These things sure do not like coming around intersection corners and being punched. Soon as I pulled over and restarted......all better.

Reminds me of what the 65 guys go through. When tranny is overtorqued, she just goes limp until they restart.

Think all is fine for us. No worries.

You get that with LSD? I think we need to find a way around that TQ converter.

It happened to my car in a parking lot with very little gas. Slowly speeding up it went into "neutral" instead of shifting into second. Shut the car off, re-started, all was fine. It went to the dealer and they found: nothing.

This happened to me once. Left a light real hard in manual mode, went to shift to 2nd, and the trans just went dead.. Car just reved as though it was in "N" After coasting to a stop, turned it off-on.. All was good....
