Those particles are more than likely some residue form all the machining that got trapped in the motors fluid cavities. And there is not allot of it either, and also of different sizes. Machining particles have much more variance in size, and generally rough. Worn debriss tends to be similar sized, smoother and discoloured (from excessive heat) - these look bright and fresh. Even if you clean the motor for hours there is bound to be a small pocket of debriss stuck somewhere unfortuntely...
I reckon motor is 100%. I'd flush it run it 200 miles and see if there are any more particles. If so, then pull the motor.
Are oil temps / fluid temps higher than normal? If not I thnk you're golden.

Yes - better to be safe than sorry - the last thing you want is a dry bearing from a blockage in an oil feed or something ... that could be real nasty...

The engine is still in California believe it or not.. it's been difficult trying to get the engine crated and arranged for pickup to bring to Canada.. Hopefully it will begin its journey early next week..
I am anxious to tear it down and see what is happening inside.
I'll post whatever we find up here once it's been dismantled.

Hey Guys
The 5.7L has returned back to it's origin in Canada. We should receive updates and pictures next week. Stay tuned!

I still call that it was just normal break in fragments and it's no big deal.
Interesting to see the results.
Keep us posted.
I only waited a few months for mine, not sure how you are doing it honestly Havoc!

I would guess a few more months. We still have to complete the headers and exhaust, then tune the ECU, which will take a few weeks, then we'll add the Bullet Trans and that'll take some time to tune the TCU. I'll probably want to port the S/C also (I might do that now to save some time), and all of this has to get completed before we add the TTs. Just hang in there with me bro!
Roger that! I'll keep you guys posted.
I do it by staying busy. I scheduled my deployments 4 months on, 2-4 weeks off. I can't drive it if I'm not around.

Update..
They started disassembly yesterday and it’s looking pretty good so far. When they dropped the oil pan there were zero particles in the oil. They inspected all the rods, rod bolts, and the pistons. Everything is perfect. There are no heat marks anywhere which is a good sign.
Today they are pulling off the heads and inspecting everything inside the motor in a little more detail. They will inspect everything for scour marks to see what is going on but so far no evidence of any damage anywhere.
Stay tuned for futher updates.

That's good news Havoc, I hope it continues. That car is going to be a monster.

Update..
Victor just sent me some pics.
The 5.7L is completely apart including the heads. They have checked every bolt and every part. There is no heat marks, no broken material , no damage anywhere that is visible.
The engine builder is now going the extra length and measuring all the components and checking tolerances.

I really hope your 5.7 bottom is up and running soon!
I finally pulled the trigger and Vadim is now upgrading my engine, tranny and suspension complete with twin-turbos on top of my Kleemann twin-screw supercharger...I kept trying to push him to increase displacement to 6.1 like Brabus but finally we both agreed that leaving it at 5.5 and increasing boost would yield just as much power with much less hassle and risk.

Unfortunately, the 5.7L has a knocking sound in addition to the particles in the oil. Since the engine builder is unable to locate the source of the problem at this time, I asked Victor to buy the project back from me.
No worries though, as I’m still in search to build the ultimate 55 beast. So until then, its back to the drawing board for the Havoc! Stay Tuned!
Thanks to everyone for your support.

Well Thericker, it’s with great sadness that I post my last update on VRP’s 5.7L Engine Build.

That is amazing. Sorry you had it happen. So do you still have your OEM motor? Do you plan to get the car back and then start again?
Your positive attitude is great. I would have been crawling in my own skin with anger!
