Time for service "B"
im almost reaching 60k mileage and the service B light have popped up... anybody ever got this done? what all needs to be done? and for the guys without factory warranty, how much did you guys pay?

And you pay the same warranty or not ... but a good indy shop should be your friend at this point since you're out of warranty. I think almost all good techs end up at indy shops when they get fed up with the dealership crap.

i can not find my manual.. but do you know what all needs to be done with service B? and how many miles can i go over the due time? its my only daily driver, so its kind of difficult

Flexible Service System - B-Service
- Change your vehicle's engine oil and filter
- Replace the dust filter in all SLK, CLK, C-Class and E-Class models,
and in S-Class and SL-Class models without the active charcoal filter
- Replace windshield wiper inserts
- Inspect and rotate tires
- Lubricate and inspect throttle linkage
- Ensure the parking brake, steering play, headlamps and exterior lamps,
warning and indicator lamps, horn, windshield/headlamp wiper and washer
systems, seat belts, and backrest lock (S-Class only) are functioning correctly
- Inspect tires and check tire pressure (including spare)
- Inspect brake pad thickness and disc condition
- Inspect front axle ball joints and Poly-V-belt
- Check and correct all fluid levels
- Reset your vehicle's FSS counter
*Model year 1998 through 2006 vehicles are equipped with the Flexible Service System (FSS)
Depends on your location, Service B costs around $460 from the stealerships here in Bay Area, CA. Good luck.
