Supercharger Belt Replacement
This is maybe a 15 minute job, and most definitely a simple DIY job. Here are the steps:
1. Pick up a new belt from your favorite supplier. I paid $27 at my local MB dealer.
2. Tools required are a 12 point 17mm wrench and a 4mm allen wrench or other suitable drift.
3. Remove front engine cover. Here's the view with the cover removed.
4. Locate the attachment point on the tensioner for the 17mm wrench.
5. Rotate the wrench to the left to release the tension on the v belt.
6. Align the opening on the rotated tension with the retaining bore on the tension body. Insert the allen wrench or drift to secure the tensioner in position with tension released on the v belt.
7. Slide the old belt off and position the new one in place, making sure the grooves in the belt align with the pulleys.
8. Once the new belt is in position, hold the wrench and remove the allen wrench or drift and slowly release the wrench upward to restore the belt tension.
9. Remove the wrench from the tensioner and start up the engine to verify the new belt is tracking correctly. Reinstall the engine cover and you're done.
A fresh belt for the supercharger is a good thing. A belt should last around 30K miles before needing replacement; there's no harm in replacing more frequently, but the best thing to do is periodically inspect the condition of the belt, look for wear, cracks, tears, etc.

Excellent post. Thanks for sharing the procedure.
Incidentally, when was the last time you were able to get away from the dealership for only $27?

Kompressed 55 is right...changing the s/c belt was very easy, especially with this thread's pics and instructions. I just did it and t took me less then 15 minutes.
Icandr55 is also right that the stock belt (shown in the pic) seemed to work just fine on a Kleeman pulley.

Just as an FYI, you can not use the OEM belt with the VRP Pulley. It just doesn't fit. And it isn't just the lip. We tried getting it on all kinds of ways and it would not go on even with the tensioner at max and all other pulleys loosened for added play.

Just did this and thank you for the post/pics. Anyone reluctant to do this job...don't be. It's the easiest DIY job. As the other posters stated, if you are in there more than 5 minutes you are doing something else.

Nevermind, I found it. I did not remove the "A" before doing part # search. OOPS.

Quick question, I may start a new post on this. Just got my E55 back from evosport stage 2. Wicked power but to my extreme dismay (and they informed me of the problem before hand (yes they will fix)) Im getting what they call "belt slap" due to the heavy power surge. One of the pulleys has a tiny bit of play in the bearing which causes the belt to slide up on the lip of the pulley and it gets shredded to almost have the size its supposed to be. This only happens when I have extra fun (high rpms) but thats why I bought the car. Has anyone had this problem? Anyone have any suggestions for a fix? The tuners have Evosport sending a new bearing which hopefully will fix the problem.
Thanks for any info. And hello this is my first post. I've already found some great info here.

anyone know the exact size of the stock belt? I saw that it is made by gates, however gatorback makes their belts so that when the car is at idle, they whistle, pretty loud to like a centrifugal blower.
