*** VRP VR675 Hits the Track ***
My buddy who owns the White E55 with the VR675 that we installed just hit the track in Montreal.
His car is the one in this video I posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVyZw9GjJnU
I was going to fly in to go and do some video and take some pics but I got tied up.. He just hung up with me to tell me the news..
He went with his HRE wheels and Yoko street tires.. He said he was spinning the whole 60ft.. Full tank of 93octane fuel.. i told him it was too much weight but he wanted the extra traction.
1st pass, 12.5 @ 128.xx mph (I cant remember the exact trap).
2nd pass, 12.2 @ 128.7mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet with a half tank he would of trapped 129mph.
He is going to have his friend scan and email me a copy of the slips but I wanted to post the info because I was so happy with the results.
Drag radials are on order and I am flying in to Montreal next weekend to try to get an 11.00 or 10.99 out of it!!!
128.7mph is a very low 11sec or high 10sec car...
If I am not mistaken, I believe this is the highest trapping non-nitrous pass so far on a 55 car..
We now know 100% that this combination works and works very well.. the car is a complete monster and makes huge power.
(P.S-> Lee: Go out and take that wicked wagon to the track and see what it does.. You should be in the same boat!!)

Victor - I was all set for this evening but the stealership still has my car. I'm gutted to say the least. That's the fastest trap I've seen w/out gas
It looks as though next wednesday night will be the night and it will be filmed I promise

He's definitely going to need drag radials (MT's) and a 16" or 17" drag wheel (CCW Classics - I bought them off Rflow and swears by them). That would help a lot. I just saw the Pass Time clip of the SL65 with MT's (17"rims) and it was amazing the hookup it had with a small burnout. There didn't seem to be any wheelspin...amazing...11.13 1/4 mile...
Victor...great job...I know once that baby hooks up that it's an 11 sec car...no problems.

Thanks guys!!!
I was pretty happy with the results even though it was a crappy ET.
I called him to get some more info...
Runs were done at Naiperville in Montreal at around 9:30pm.. Outside temp was 14C.
1st pass, 12.56 @ 128.60 mph , 2.2sec 60ft
2nd pass, 12.20 @ 128.78mph, 2.1sec 60ft
3rd pass, 12.56 @ 127mph (he had a passenger in the car)
It was funny because he said to me on the phone that after the first pass, he thought he was actually given the wrong slip. The track was just packed.. He went to do a second pass because he wanted to confirm the MPH.
He has run his Protomotive 996TT at the same track and ran an 11.3 @ 125.6mph. Also, he has over 75 passes under his belt with various cars he owns so he is no stranger to 1/4mile racing.
He is not very computer literate so we are trying to get a buddy to scan and email the slips so I can post them for you guys. I am dying to see them also.

he must have been spinning a lot more than the first 60'..... I've run 12.2 @ 120 with a 2.2 60'.....
high 10's shouldn't be a problem at all with tires..... keep us posted!

BTW guys... not that it matters, but, my buddy is also in a wheelchair and drives his E55 using hand controls for brake & power.. This also makes it very difficult for him to get the quickest ETs out of the car.
Here is a pic of the cockpit of his car.

Damn Victor...that's a big BTW...I'd be hardpressed to get a good ETA with my 2 left feet much less hand controls...
PS...He's blind too?

I don't dwell on his handicap, but, sometimes I have to remind myself that he is also doing what he does without the use of his 2 legs so it makes the accomplishment all the more impressive.
He has a bunch of cars that are all modified and loves to race.

I agree and that was my weak attempt at getting to that point. Big ups to him because if I had to use hand controls with a car with that much torque, I'd still be burning rubber...

LOL.. Yeah.. you and I both.. I tried to drive it when I was there last week.. I dont know how the heck he controls it using his hand.. its very difficult to modulate throttle.
Damn... Was hoping you could come and help me make some history.. I know if you are driving we can get a shot at the 10s...
He wants the CCW lightweight drag wheels with MT tires so those hopefully will arrive before the weekend.
Don't worry.. he's already asked me to talk to you and find out how to best integrate a 100shot of Nitrous.. We want to see how fast we can get it without the spray, but, to try and beat your old time of 10.75 he wants to throw the spray on and see if we can get a 10.50 out of it.

The MT's are very consistent but they will require special wheels and I want to see that thing back at the track asap.
