Summertime heatsoak blues!! Hey, do turbs suffer JUST like ours?
Dayum these cars just blow in the summer.
Sure wishing I had a very high hp N/A or the TT 6.2 yesterday that's for sure.
Question, I know turbs have to suffer like our cars to some degree, but is heatsoak at least a little less on a turb??
Sorry to keep repeating, but MAN yesterday sucked. Once warm, a Ford 500 was messing with me and then stomped it. I barely had enough power to overtake and pass him. Everthings fine with the car. Just all the mods makes a boatload of heat and she ain't happy when it's 90+.
The biggest problem when its hot would be intake temps, and the intercooler not getting enough cool air to lower the temps.

This is the reason you are cooking the IAT's so quickly. BTW do you have split circuit intercooler mod (as per evosport) or are you in OEM mode sharing with the engine rad? Might need to go split circuit with oversized rear mouted cooled water reservoir.
Larger and more efficient Intercooler mated with bigger heat exchanger is the holy grail on these cars....
You just have to look at the SLR for answers...
A turbo boosting the same boost as your S/C will be considerably more powerfull overall as its more efficient to pump than the S/C - with an obvious different power delievery. But if you had turbo's instead of a blower you would still suffer the same heatsoak issue with the intercooler limitation you have.
I heard somewhere the SLR uses approx 120hp to run the S/C at full power...
Yeah, she's all separated with Evosport exchanger and Johnson 90 pump. Wonder if maybe I should add a 2nd one or somethin??
Honestly may end up trying to setup something like Chiro did with the cooling tank in the trunk.
Also may look into CO2 sprayer as well just for fun runs.
Gonna do some datalogging this PM and see just how bad it is today. Another 90degree one today.
Will post up my IAT's and see what she looks like.

Klee I guess can get um done between 6-10K. Think that is what Cor quoted me last time I asked.

The SLR's a re super efficient as the flow is across a very long frontage of cooling - our cooler is small faced and long - means larger drop off in boost, and less cooling... SLR has probably 250% the IC volume than we have.
Just no room for an FMIC so guess we are stuck, unless you want to hack a hole in your hood and have a large air/air unit sticking out the top...

I was toying with the idea of flipping the S/C upside down - making room for one much bigger I/C on top. The associated plumbing would be a pretty decent mensa challenge though.
Also if you go TT (sans S/C) you got a nice big void where the S/C was for a proper I/C ... lose the primary cats to make space for the blowers and your set. I guess this is the best all in solution but it is a major change.

I wonder if this ECU reset does not reset a load limiter or something?

Would you mind sending it our way please, except for this WEDNESDAY. I have BIG PLANS for WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!

The 63 suffers a dramatic and very noticable downgrade in power, but definitely not as much as the kompressors. It then stays a little more consistent than the 55s (I think)
Not the solution we were hoping for though.

Hoping that this company known for being first in innovation has the engineers working OT on the turb cooling systems for the next set of engines.
Cooling on stock cars DOES not increase performance, it maintains consistency longer, if it is ever breached in the first place...
Lots of people saying things, with out numbers to back it up I believe.
Jackpros car is not stock and has a butt load of mods...its natural to assume it will be running hotter then stock. How hot is yet to know, thus get data logging and try to get a few test seniors down on paper to right down the numbers you get.
Secondly all cars suffer from the heat, some more then others.
Jack you got Evotech big *** pulley yes?
Reset the ECU last night via battery disconnect. Sure enough, COMPLETELY different car today. Ferocious and mean again even in the summer heat. As I did a couple of higher R runs to get her piping hot, I could feel performance dropping like yesterday, but totally different powerwise from yesterday.
I honestly could not even lightly squeal the tires yesterday from a redlight. Just slowly boooooooggged it's way up in R's.
Today, the devil again.

All kidding aside you guys, what's your thoughts a battery quick disconnect from like a Jegs or Summitt. Maybe I just reset the gosh darn thing couple of times a week for years of possessed driving.

example S mode and down shift to be in power band via steering wheel shifts, then let her rip?
oh and whihc pulley?
Bummer on the 03's.
Wondered a bit if it was my pedal sensor, but time will tell.
Maybe I will swap it out just to be safe.

does the sneaky ecu reset work for you? that would be much easier than disconnecting the battery every few days!
