I just got them in 265/35/18 for the stock rears. I have noticed at speeds 85+ there is a VERY SMALL wiggle. Maybe it's just me...I have only driven about 150 miles on them so far and no complaints at all thus far...

I have run Falkens on my old E36 M3, actually a great tire, but short life.

vreds are great tires but due to the high demand they jacked up all their prices- still pretty cheap but in the price range now where you can consider other tires for alittle more

On Nankang's: DO NOT, I repeat do not put Nankangs on your car. When I first got my CLS, there were Nankangs on it and they had splits on the sidewalls. The MB dealer that inspected it pointed it out, when the car was delivered, damn. Scary, and Nankangs are known to split in the middle.

Vred's are pretty cool for what I hear.

I use Michelin's Pilot A/S Plus now, 500 TW AA A rating. 45K warranty from Michelin. A little expensive, but like mentioned earlier it connects the car to the road.

On my R, Toyos. They have been awesome, been in snow, rain, sleet, ice, summer, and they held up with great performance.

I've tried all the brands mentioned with the exeption of the "Macaroni" tires, everbodies experience differs with each brand. I had Kumho's on my Supra for less than 24 hours had the tire store replace them with Nitto 555's(awsome tire). The Kumho's were replacing Falkens which were'nt bad,as for Nangkangs I'm on on my 2nd set of rears(wonder why, lol)with no problems at all. The Vreds which is what my car came with were good also, but, prices down here (FL) are the same as higher priced tires like the Nitto's and Toyo's go figure?

I have not tried the vreds, but I've tried about everything else on that list, and they're pretty crappy.

Nexans are crummy, Falkens are o.k. except every one of them I tried (on different cars even) wound up with cupping/uneven wear problems. And they don't last that long anyway. The other REALLY annoying thing about falkens is that they kept causing a strong pull to the right, again even on different vehicles. I'm not a falken fan.

Marangoni = crap.

Every I ever talked to who has vreds loves them. I hear they handle like a pirelli or a michelin, but for 1/3rd of the price. I will be trying out a set when I'm done with my current set of PS2's. The PS2's are a great tire, by the way, by far the best I've had, but there's no effin' way am I paying $1600 just for a set of tires again. Michelin is really smokin' something good when it comes to their new pricing.

Try Nankangs if you want to know how it feels to drive tablet of soap (on wet road)

Very dangerous tires especially on wet

Just wondering what made you decide on going with 225/35 with 265/30?

Hey guys,
well I was doing a search on Nankang, because I'm running AMG offset 5 spoke rims
off a CLK, and damn the car just EATS rear tires.
Originally the car came with normal 17" wheels known as "C7" rims in the C Class world, a 7 spoke MB design, but I "upgraded" to the AMG's when a deal came up.
I've had Michelin (1st set),
#2 Continental Extreme Contact whatevers (noisey as hell!),
#3 Fuzions ZRi ( not bad but hella stiff, good in wet and dry) stuck with those for a a few sets...
#4- General Exclaims- Absolute crap
#5- Michelin PS2's that came with the current set of AMG rims, (excellent, but yeh again wear fast)
#6.- Bridgestone Re050r- Pole Position- Excellent, but expensive and short wear...
rears wore out in 10K miles...but the fronts lasted almost 22-25K miles.
replaced the rears with
#6- Sumitomo HTRIII- Saw them on a review on TR, and they stood up well to Bridgestone as far as performance..but I went through 3 sets of rears while still running the RE050 fronts...
#7 ??????

Either I got back to wheels I can rotate...or find something that last longer, OR is wayyy
less expensive.

My current pair of Sumi's on the rear is at the 2/32 marker after only $4500 miles!!!

So , I was considering putting the Nankangs on the back...but I have a feeling I'd regret it...I travel over a serious mountain road, and um...don't wanna die if thats ok with everybody.

I have heard nothing but good things about Vreds.

I have Nitto NT555's on my 19" Monarchs. I've driven about 1000miles on them and think they're pretty damn good. The price was about the same as Vreds.

I'm currently running General Exclaim UHP in 19" on my E55. But only for the last 1000 miles, so far i'm pretty happy. Can you tell me why you feel that they are "absolute crap"? Thanks.

I've got the Vred's for less than 1,000 miles and they're not equal to PS2's on dry pavement. They don't have the bite and hold on hard turn in that the PS2's have. I'm going to try higher pressure and then see what happens.

Just to be fair, I bought them as a compromise and time will tell whether they work out. I have a set of Corsa's for performance and the PS2's are a step below (maybe 1.5) them, so I don't expect the Vred's to match the PS2's, but they better get 50% more mileage.

The Vreds are better on wet pavement than the PS2's.

bought Vred's for my CL600 and drove on them for 1,000 before I sold the car. I liked them more than I thought I would given the price.
