Hmmm...basing my opinion purely on these photos from the magazine spread, IMHO this update is less effective than Audi's facelift of the C6 A6, especially the rear light clusters
But I'm not sure MB would do something so avant garde such as the integrated driving lights for a bread and butter class such as the E - the W212 must be more successful than the W211 generation or else it'll be a total failure. Plus with the F10 5-series coming soon, the E will have to capture the market share early and fast.
I'll withhold my final opinion until I see the real thing.
BTW, has anyone seeing the images of the new VW CC? That's a pretty sexy looking car for a VW!

The front looks OK except for the misplaced AUDI LEDs.
The rear will no doubt look superior in the flesh.
If you have a good look at the taillights you will notice they wrap around and down the length of the rear guards. If you were to view the car square on from the rear, the taillights would not look too stretched at all IMO. Its just the angle of that picture. Initially I agreed they look like the Hyundai and Accord but in retrospect I think it is a design first.
