Would you buy a lemon buyback e55?

Would anyone buy a lemon buyback e55? I am looking at 2006 that was a buyback. WDBUF76J26A852196 being the vin number, i didnt purchase carfax yet as i am not serious about the car yet. Just wondering if anyone would get a lemon, and why.

Take the VIN to a Mercedes SA (service advisor) and see if they can do a lookup on the what the repair history was...

It will be hard for you to sell this car, it was sold on auction just a month ago and now a guy(dealer probably) is reselling it. Let me know if you want carfax report for that car

They are great cars depending on the problem. Something stupid like stereo or other electronic problems I have no problem with. It obviously does tend to hurt the resale value though.

I'm in the industry, and I can tell you ...

that unless you plan on keeping it for years, it will be darn near impossible to resell. Perhaps a few years out, after the smell has gone off it, and it's $20k instead of $50. Thing is, these cars are cheaper at the MB auctions, but not that much cheaper. Makes no sense to me. Keep in mind also that many lenders won't touch one with lemon history.

Run as fast as you can, in the other direction. Why consider a POS when you know it's a POS? The red flag is waving in the wind.

Lenders do not care and neither do extended warranty companies.

Sorry, disagree.

Seen it happen. Some lenders will now not even loan money on a car with Carfax collision history.
Also, they are not necessarily a POS. Lots of high line car customers have ridiculously high expectations, or niggling problems. When combined with buyer's remorse, they see a way out.

NO! I have had one car with nothing but flaws and my current car is just flawless. If I could have paid more then to get the car I am driving now I would have gladly paid more!

i do have my doubts about lemons and cars with some performance in mind, i think i will play it safe and go cpo, although i do intend to do some mods here and there when i get it probably effectively voiding the warranty.
Does anyone have an idea of what dealers or private sellers are selling 05/06 e55s for that are in warranty? i am unsure if kbb is accurate for such cars in this economy
