Wow, so cool that this thread continues to live on! In that latest picture, your car appears to be black! The IR glass is very nice, definitely can feel the difference.
How do you like the Euro convex mirrors? I think that will be the last mod for my R, although I keep saying that with the last four mods.

2004 AMG E55, 2011 Ram 2500 6.7L
Amazing Mods
You give a new E55 owner a lot of ideas! On post #36, you show installing the aluminum AMG door lock pins. (A 000 766 02 28)
I purchased a set, and LOVE the way they look. Did you ever find something for the rear doors? The matching rears (A 000 766 03 28) from a W212 are "snap" in, and my 2004 has threaded posts.
Thanks, and keep up the excellent thread!

Great list of mods, thanks for sharing. Although your new dash shows shows a few extra items personally I always really liked the E55 cluster and think it is a redeeming feature. And thanks for reminding me that the latches on my first aid and fire extinguisher also need to be replaced along with the rear shade blinds - they don't quite look the same if you wind the window down while they are still up...
We do pay exorbitant prices for cars in Australia but the manufacturers do include many features here as standard (which are options elsewhere) to try and partly justify their inflated prices. I noticed a few things you upgraded that came stock with the E55 in Australia including the rear shades and fire extinguisher mentioned above plus the warning triangle and folding mirrors - although when my car was freighted to another city for repairs once they forced the mirrors in (heathens!) to conserve space (should have had them set to automatically fold in at the time!) and as a result broke the internals with a $1000 replacement cost! Also the bumpers in Australia did not come with side lights.

You can laugh and make fun all you like but in the end I earn my enthusiast title by actually paying 3-4x price increase for a second-hand merc. Think about that for a minute - would you pay between $45,000 and $60,000 for an E55 today because that is what they are currently valued at in Australia and keep in mind our dollar is worth roughly the same. Mine has cost an additional $35,000 in maintenance having been unlucky with a couple of issues including $16,000 to turn off the SRS light. It is what it is – ya gotta pay to play...

Had my MB service buddy install the ASP pulley set today.
Definitely quality products as commented by the installer here in SoCal.

ASP pulleys MB Service installed
Finally got a picture of the steel carter plate since I had the car up on a lift.

Steel carter plate MB Service installed
I bought it from MBenzNL, but had my MB Service buddy install it who was able to put it in easily. This was done quite a while ago. It is heavy, but provides the protection I want.
