180 mm Pulley causes "drivability issues"
Hi everyone,
I just installed the 180 mm pulley on the Beast yesterday and found that there is more power, but at the expense of drivability.
For example, the car now feels somewhat like a Turbo-charged car, with highly noticeable turbo-lag. When moderate throttle is applied, the stock car use to accelerate with no hesitation. Now with the pulley, the throttle has to be pressed harder before the engine really starts to pull, building RPMs, before the power really kicks in, hence "the lag." When it does pull, it obviously pulls harder. I'm not especially found at the idea that the engine has to rev harder to get the power from what I got from before.
Is this an air/fuel issue? I have a LET tune coming this week so I'm hoping that would fix the issue.
Without the tune, I don't feel that the 180mm pulley was a great mod because of the reduced driveability.

Be patient, and wait until the tune is done. You will be a VERY happy camper then...
You can't unlock any power with just the pulley, it is the combo of pulley+tune that does it. Actually, just the pulley by itself will usually reduce performance, since the ECU is trying to compensate for all the increased airflow that it doesn't think is normal. When you have the tune done, all will be well.

Most of the dyno sheets with pulley/no tune show good TQ, but no effective increase in HP as the ECU decides that it isn't seeing what's expected.
Your tune will put a smile a mile wide on your face.

ECU is fighting higher boost right now.
LET tune will give it a Xanax and tell it to relax and enjoy the large pulley.
Oh and please God, tell me this isn't yours.....

I'm with C43AMG - if I saw that thing at sea, I would kick it in its fuzzy crotch and roll it off the poop deck.
