What color is your CLS? You should post some pics... Welcome to the forum, by the way. It's funny you mention KC Trends, I'm heading out there this weekend; need to order some more tires (I keep burning 'em up)

Hey guys, there is a lot of MB activity in KC. I agree with your comments about Aristocrat and Clinton - he is great. The Kansas City Section of MBCA meets every first Saturday for breakfast at 9AM at First Watch, Shawnee Mission Parkway and Neiman in Shawnee - speakers on car subjects most meetings. We have a get together every third Monday at various locations, next is karting at Sadlers in Olathe this coming Monday at 6 (eat at Buffalo Wild Wings) then to Sadlers. Road Rallye scheduled this Sunday at noon starting at US Bank, 119th & Roe. In August we have a regional defensive driving/autocross event at the track at Metropolitan Community College east of Independence. We also have various dinners, sponsor the German car show in Sept or Oct, etc, etc. We have a first Sunday drive on the first Sun. of each month, travel no more than an hour, have lunch. I have an E63 which I plan to run at Heartland Park in Topeka in May at the Audi DE. Will be interesting since will be the first time I ran that car on a road course. Have run my former C32 and C55 many times there and other tracks: BeaveRun, Summit Point, VIR, Spring Mountain Motorsports, Hallett, IRP, Roebling Road, Thunderhill, MAM, etc. Not many in the KC section drive on road courses. We also do the dragstrip at Heartland Park several times each summer. Contact me for more information. My info is on the section website: kcmbca.org. I'm the secretary this year. Call or email me or the president for info. The club is the best way to get together for information, friendship and driving.

I would encourage everyone to come out to atleast one breakfast, and while I don't have an AMG or a W211 I can still hold my own!!

That's me. Since that picture was taken I've got Renntech Stage 1 plus Renntech airbox and Evosport headers. Sl65 19" wheels too. You can tell mine by the "RENNTECH" liscense plate frame. I still love this car.

Do you remember the rich kid with the yellow Viper GTS and the guy who owned the black slammed C5 with plates that read BTCHSLP? They were KCMO guys. On the KCK side there were a few of us with a mix of ZO6s and others. There was a guy with a black NSX who ran with us as well. I kept my running over at KCI on the strip. But many of those other guys were street brawlers. One of the local guys in KC with the red 1200 HP Supra was the king.

How about you KC guys/gals coming to the KC Section MBCA monthly meeting at First Watch, Shawnee Mission Parkway & Neiman, Sat. 4/2 at 9 AM. We usually have about 35 to 45 attend. Don't recall who the speaker is but its a good time to meet MB people and learn of upcoming events.

The KC Section MBCA breakfast is at First Watch at Neiman and Shawnee Mission Parkway the first Saturday in August. Spashnacht is at Jazz at the Legends at 7 PM on August 15. Its just beer and something to eat, and meet MB owners. The German Car Show is at Hawthorn Plaza on Oct. 16. MB, BMW, Porsche, VW etc. show their cars. Clinton will probably show his modified Smart Car. If interested in driving events on track let me know. Hallet in Sept., Heartland Park in Oct.

2006 SL65 ///AMG - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: 2005 E55; 2002 ML55; 2001 CLK55; 1992 BMW 850i; 1991 M5
E55 Gone!
Guys - I sold my E55 to a neighbor. After all those mods and all those hours in the garage, I allowed my wandering eye and roaming ways to lead me further down the path of 'more must be better' and just took possession of a "previously enjoyed" 2006 SL65, Iridium Silver, 27k miles. Clinton Wong at Aristocrat has it this week to swap all the fluids and spark plugs and install a new Johnson CM30 in the intercooler circuit. Figure I'd see how the thing drives in bone-stock, but properly tuned trim before I start tweaking and tuning. I can say that the Stage II Kleemannized E felt more "brutal" for lack of a better term - the SC engagement was abrupt and the downshift was more immediate. Maybe the result of my style of driving on the adaptive circuit of the TCU? The SL feels much more "linear" in its power delivery. Not as aggressive. But the speedo needle sweeps from 20 to 80 awfully fast. These cars are supposed to be worth 11.6 bone stock. I will have to lay into it a bit more after it's "freshening up" and let you know.
