Why do dealers......
wonder when they are called 'stealers'....?
I was driving by this dealer and saw a few W212s out front. Thought I'd check them out. Sorry, but these cars are not looking good, imho.
And what's with these wheels?
First one had "AMG" chrome wheels:
Second one also had the very same "AMG" chrome wheels:
The third one had this super deal

WTF?! I hate MB of South Bay. Tried to hide some details on an ML I was considering buying for the Mrs. until right before agreeing to the deal. Can't believe they are selling "eBay" wheels on their cars for insane markups. True MB afficionados see this from a mile away. They ultimate shoot themselves in the foot as they lose credibility and sales referrals from guys like me. Before you know it, they will be putting AMG badges on some of these cars!

Well, ya know they have to make a living...the grabbing hands grab all they can...I dunno, I think that they steal from the uninformed and from the "emotionally attached to the car/deal" buyer.

BTW- What in the hell are these idiots at South Bay thinking?
You can get AMG's for less than that. 550's around all day everyday, CLS/E definitely. Are they aware of the huge market of cars for sell for much better prices and options than those?

How does MBUSA even allow dealerships to do that? Its a brand new car that's now been ruined...the stock wheels cost more than those pieces of tin.
One of you guys should have a talk with whoever makes that decision. Karl benz would be appalled.

what's up with the post note "additional equipment added by dealer" sticker too. All handwritten and crap. Its a new MB! Type that crap out on a nice addendum sticker. Looks like a lazy dealer to me. Immediate turn off. Its not the Hyundai dealer... or maybe its a Sonata disguised as a W212? Could be...

$5500 for aftermarket wheels ...... $2k for AMG wheels.... who is really buying that car...... I think they try to raise the price and then negociate down. Like with upgrade wheels at $60K and then you can negociate to $56K. Few customers who doenst know will be very happy to get a W212 at $56K + Tax for a V6 ......... with tax in LA now almost 10% so will be around $61k !!!

Hmmmm......this thread just reminded me of those crooks at South Bay. After ripping off a poor schmo with those "aftermarket" wheels, they still get to sell the factory ones that came with the car.

And those crappy EXE wheels retail for $1950 a set...... that's retail LIST price.
They're adding $5495.00
MB South Bay is the bottom of the barrel. Owned by AutoNation. They just brought in a new sales management guy from..... Toyota. Seriously.

Not only that but nobody here noticed that they're charging $1999.00 on one of the cars and then $2999.00 on another car for the SAME wheels

A 10K set of rims can fall apart and be garbage.
All in all, this is a straight jack move by this dealer and should be reported.

Wow all kinds of uproar over adding some aftermarket rims. If you don't want the rims I am sure they'd take them off. It's not like they are adding ADM (added dealer markup) on the car itself.

First, they are going after unsuspecting buyers. It's a known tactic of dealers. And it's unnecessary.
Second, they are offering two different prices (a $1k difference) on the same wheels on two different vehicles.
Third, their mark up on the el cheapo aftermarket wheels is almost 300%.
Uproar necessary.
