Intercooler Water Reservoir? What size to get?

While I don't have an E55K, I know you guys have major AIT problems with the intercooler system after you do a few good mods and start to upgrade it. Well I'd say my e320 has a few good mods and I'm upgrading to a water intercooler since I don't want a huge ricer-spec FMIC up front.

My question is who makes a good water reservoir than can be mounted in the trunk? I want to run a 2 or more gallon reservoir so I can keep the AITs after the intercoolers below 110 degrees. Not so much an icebox though since I have a turbo which runs a little cooler than a top mounted blower. I am a poor 19 year old who does all his own work so I don't care if it's a plastic reservoir(kind of preferred actually ) or needs the fittings welded in.

Here's the setup so far. The intercooler and heat exchanger can both hold their fair share of water but I want a reservoir just for good measure.

The real problem is I don't want to cut up the bumper support . That little air to air I have is as much intercooler that would ever fit on the car unless I got a Fabulous or WALD body kit.

I have a budget setup that did for cheap. I used a water storge tank for a boat, it had threaded fittings already in it, Then used a 750gph pump that is mounted directly to the tank. the pump 35.00 the tank was under 50.00 fitting and hose are cheap. I added a fuel cell cap to mine so i could add Ice but you dont have to.

you need the pump with a 90 degree inlet not like the pictured

If you need a down and dirty how to let me know. but ifyour doing thi yourself you can more than likly figure it out.

Those are exactly what I was looking for! Ordering the 6 gallon right now!

Does the pump aid the intercooler pump in getting the water to the heat exchanger. All pumps push better than they suck so I guess I see where the secondary pump is needed.

OT: Turbo looks like a 62-1 or 60-1 being a 14 blade in a S housing.

I'm only using that pump, but you could use 2
I was having pump failure and heat soak issues before I did this, I build this for what it would have cost to buy a Cm30

The 750 was on back order so I got a Rule 1100GPH bilge pump . That should keep the system cool . CM30's are grossly over-rated, most bilge/livewell/baitwell pumps are much better and if you want something more aesthetically pleasing then their are Meziere water pumps that would pump better than 2 CM30's for the same price.

It's a Garrett T3/60-1. I'm going for 400+ rwhp on my DD settings and maybe push it over 500 on my race gas settings. I've been running 15psi for a few thousand miles now but it was on 2.25" intercooler piping and it was leaking. Now that I have 2.5" IC piping and cut the tow hook off(pressed on the piping and caused the major leak) it should get a major boost in airflow and power. 17-18psi is all it will take out of this motor before I need to upgrade to a T4/T66 turbo.

I just picked up an SL600 transmission(and engine lol) so I can start adding major power to the car. You can swap the e320's gear set into the sl600 722.6 and switch the bell housings so you can run a SL600 tranny on a 6 cylinder m104. Basically a cheap way to make an bullet-proof transmission.
