The Official 60-130 Thread MBWorld Edition
As the title states this is the official thread to keep track of the time it takes us to go 60mph to 130mph. Why such a weird parameter, well if you think about it it really represents real world driving. Most of our "street encounters" happen from a roll more often then from a stand still. As much as we go ga-ga here for drag racing, the 60-130 is a better benchmark of how our cars will do in an average encounter. This was started on a board in which I am a sponsor 6Speedonline, so if you are familiar with this you will see that I am intently copying the verbiage and rules, with all credit due to Scott and Aaron Cichelli I guarantee you will find this "new" data set very interesting and fun.
PLEASE NOTE: Only GPS based, datalogger times from V-box equipment (Driftbox, performance box, or V-box) will be accepted for this list. No extrapolated times from 1/4 mile time-slips. Also, all submitted data files must be reviewed for accuracy by either me/JayCL600 or Tom/TMC M5
JayCL600: jason@gemsbyjwade.com
TMC M5: tmc1271@aol.com
*NOTE: The maximum allowed downhill slope over the course of the run is 3.00%. Any run that exceeds 3.00% will not be posted on the list.
We will have 2 lists, one that is all Mercedes Benz vehicles verified runs, the second list will be other marques that have had verified runs.
Mercedes Benz 60-130

Also anyone local in the MD/DC/VA area can feel free to use Toms Performance Box (thanks Tom!!) They arent cheap, they retail for about 500.00 but its a VERY cool tool. We are trying to put together a 60-130 track day before the end of the year.

Great thread! Hopefully the mods will make this a sticky.
The only problem is that the Vbox stuff is around $500 bucks or so...damn. I would love to know what my car does from 60-130.
Would the v-box measure your 60-130 if you started from 20 with a full throttle roll into 60 or do you need to start at 60 and roll from there? I take it the vbox will also record your incline/decline?
edit: haha..i type slow

Our track north of Houston offers 60-130 MPH racing on key nights. All the data tools are supplied and a safe way to race. I posted last year but it seemed no Benzes had times then.
Great thread and great way to keep friendly times going.. Long tubes will be a must have!!
PS, so I guess my I phone with G force meter will not count..J/K

Awesome thread Jay, it's about time this resource has been posted. I'm quite interested to see some times from highly modded E55s as I've never seen not one 60-130mph from one. I would also be quite interested to see The V12 TT S Class times and the EVOSPORT and MHP C63 along with other C63s with headers, tune, intake.
Too bad V12Godspeed has the car up for sale, it would be great to see what that monster does, perhaps Marko can do this test.

Jason didnt you buy your car with the ECU mod? I ask cause you listed your car as stock and its faster than Toms modded 65?

Awesome thread - I'm a huge fan of 60-130 times, cuts out all the bs and is a great representation of a car's performance. There's still a lot of skill involved and a few things you can do to get a better time, but overall a great measure of how fast your car is. I haven't logged a time yet in my E55 but ran a 5.86 in my HPF M3.
btw, anyone in the DFW area is welcome to borrow my vbox if they would like to record their time.

You had to come in and show everyone up with that single turbo monster ehh Scott. Any plans for the E55?

I've always wondered how my car would compare amongst the great ones on the list thus far. I need someone with that racelogic box to hook me up so I could get some times!

I do not know Jay or Tom. Probably the best guys you could know. Just remember that unless your run is not on public roads, you just sent away a file with enough information to convict you of speeding at >130MPH. Incertain states that can be real bad.
Tom and Jay, post the KML files for the runs.

Just ordered a PerformanceBox .. so lets see what my baby does. Just got to find the right place to play!

How about a group buy on the Performance Box? I'm sure there'll be enough interest generated to justify a group buy. I would be in for sure if we could get it lower than $500.

Excuses about modding it! Atleast put some filters, pulley, heat exchanger, ic pump and a tune and leave it like that. I know it definitely can't compare to the M3 in speed but for a 4 door luxury and space package it's hard to beat with the torque and driveability. It's all good though, I'll see if you leak anything on E46Fanatics as I don't know to trust you concerning the mod bug.

Very interesting thread.... I can't wait for the results
I used to have a PerformanceBox (one of the first ones actually) but after repeated use and lending it to so many different people, it actually broke
