***Official MBWorld Pay It Forward thread ***
 

A Couple years back Rock was kind enough to bestow upon me, a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, in a sort of raffle. Since then, I've seen a few threads matching this type of generosity and kindness. Recently, Sean aka TheRicker recently payed it forward with an SL63 rear spoiler. With all of the recent threads about MBWorld members getting scammed, or losing thousands of dollars at the hands of unscrupulous vendors, I thought it would be nice if we could change the atmosphere a bit with a thread about kindness.

The rules:

A member posts a **free** P.I.F. item. Any MBWorld member, with a minimum of 100 posts is eligible to receive this item. The giver will take names, via post and/or PM for a time lenght they see fit, at which time the giver will put all names in a hat and pull out the winner. The winner will be notified via PM and announced in this thread. It is up to the giver if the winner is responsible for shipping, and this must be stated in the giver's original post.

The only other rule is that winner MUST and I repeat MUST have an item available that they are willing to Pay It Forward with. If you don't, please don't apply to be a winner. The life of this thread is reliant upon the winner actually Paying It Forward.

I'll start.

I have a brand new H7 HID kit w/ ballasts, bulbs and mounting hardware. If I recall, they are 4500* Kelvin, matching OEM color. I originally purchased these for my wife's R500 but never got around to installing them. They will fit any H7 application and purchase price was $150.00. I was told, when I purchased them, that you do not need the little in-line capacitor and it will not throw a warning or code.

I am Paying It Forward because of Rock's generosity. I will accept names until 8:00pm 11/7/2009 at which time, I'll put all names in a hat and ship to winner, at my expense. Again, please do not apply unless you have an item that you're willing P.I.F with.

Amount of P.I.F. item is of no consequence. Even something like a box of mechanic's latex gloves. It's really not the price of the item, but the generosity behind it.

You'd be surprised how many people could use parts from a C-Class. Hell, it doesn't even need to be car junk. Wife's panties will do. :D

I've had many of members here hook it up Evan (Cruzinquick) gave me a set of slightly used slicks. Just, because he wanted to see what I would run. Then ChiroMikey Hooked it up with some E55 cams, to help be see my power number goals. (being installed tomorrow).

If anyone's in need, I Have a pair of lightly used K&N's (about 5k on them) out of my C32. They are for the stock intake.
They're gone already!

I really like the idea behind this. I doubt they'll be of much use to anybody but I have the stock amp, radio (not a nav), and CD changer out of my C32 that I will give away. All working just fine when I took them out. Kept thinking about selling it, but, just been sitting in my garage collecting dust so why not?

I have a couple (at least) of used K&N E2011 air filters for the C230K M271 engine. (I never clean these things and just bought new ones every 20k or so miles.) You can just clean them with the K&N recharge kit and you're good to go.

The front bumper mesh grills from a W203 with an AMG bumper. I bought these from a fellow member and they didn't fit my bumper (for some reason they're different from the ones on my car) and I never got around to posting them or doing anything with them. We need to make sure they fit your car though.

My brabus shift knob goes to nlpamg.

oh, it's not the bumper, it's the 3 (left, center and right) mesh grills that go in the AMG bumper that often times get lost, dented or destroyed.

I'll post pics of the items and the part numbers over the weekend.

I think a good rule would be that if you have at least a year tenure but less than 100 posts, you must pay it forward in advance. Meaning, you're unable to win an item, until you post an item. That'll weed out the newbie selfish ones. :D

Guys, after working this thread all day, I'm completely flabbergasted at the complete and utter genuine outpour of generosity.

Honestly, I thought I'd give away my HID kit, and that'd be that. But, man....who knew this was gonna happen?

Outstanding work gentleman, outstanding. It's gonna be great when we actually start giving this stuff away and you're gonna see the winner's name pop up as the next guy Paying it Forward, if they haven't already signed up.

Let's not forget why this thread was started, and that was because Rock was kind enough to send me a pair of uber expensive tires for free. You know what he knew about me before that? Nothing, other than my screen name. Stuff like that sticks with me. What nobody on here knows, is that I never used those tires and ended up selling them with intention of sending him the cash. After I sold them, I notified him and I believe his response was something like "If you send me one friggin dime of that money, I'm gonna find you and shoot you in the face with a bazooka." Good dude, right there.

Gonna sign off for the night and spend some time with my wife and a bottle of cheap champagne.

I'll throw in a set of Brabus MonoS replica wheels (19x8.5 and 19x9). One of the rear wheels is damaged on the inside wall but the other 3 are near perfect with no road rash, scratches or dings. Comes with a set of chrome lugs but I don't suggest you them unless you torque them down right. FRT not included.

While I was grabbing the K&N's out of my old airboxes for C32AMGSC I found a set of ballasts I 've been holding onto. They're out of a factory set of w203 xenon frosties (not bi-xenons). So if anybody is in need of OEM ballasts, give me a shout.

OH, I'd like to add a broken black, w203 CL grille. It's missing the chrome star, and maybe a bit messed up, but I'm sure someone could custom a Brabus style grille with it, if they want.

Benz-o-Rama, just WOW with this thread man! Awesome idea and awesome of people to participate at this volume (with such great give-aways!). I def. have to get in on this, I really want to submit my name for some give-aways, but have a question. Can we PM multiple members for different give-aways? I'll also have to see what I have to use for PIF. I probably have some boating equipment (but this is a car forum!), not much for MB related items as I have only owned my first MB for about a year and a half now.

Good question, and I've gotten numerous PMs asking the same thing, so let me take this opportunity to say a few things and this is not directed to anybody.


What I hope we don't see happen, is people PMing every giver on here to try to hoard stuff. Also, I'm sure a lot people are interested in the free tune and Hooley's race cats, so I would hope the people that win those things, don't pay it forward with their 9th grade used jock strap. While the dollar amount is not important to this program, especially to those that are just givers, but I would hope that people are reasonable when they pay it forward from the big ticket items.

Keep in mind that the whole point of this program was to give, not win/receive. There will be tons of people that are just going to be givers and that's a good thing. That's kinda the whole point of this.

Also, if you see multiple items you're interested, sure PM the givers. And if you're lucky enough to win multiple items, pay it forward with an equal number. Piece of cake. And note, that it doesn't have to be MB related stuff. Just stuff that you think someone could use.

I have no doubt that people are gonna do the right thing and not take advantage of the unbelievable generosity of the MBWorld members shown here.


All that said, I'm in the hat for Hooley's cats too. If, by some stroke of luck I win those, I'll be PIFing again with another item even though I've already given my HIDs away.

So, I would like to contribute something as well, I have a: W209 / SL R230 Black factory leather steering wheel that I will give away free as long as they abide by the P.I.F rules. This PIF thread is getting outta control :) One of the issues that's concerning is economies of scale. BOR discussed this in a previous thread, items put up for PIF from a winner should be somewhat comensurate with the value of the item(s) gained from PIF. Otherwise the economies will not work and this will turn into a "who want's my useless stuff nobody else wants" despite the good intentions of PIF. Another point is that in order for this to work well there should be items put up for PIF with values or interest at levels to keep the demand side high in a general comparison to the supply side which is at this point increasing at an alarming rate...the key to PIF is balance of these two sides and keeping the economies of scale in check...right now it seems like that scale is being tipped toward a heavy supply side and light demand side

I have an xbox360 with one controller (no harddrive) I want to add...

however...it red ringed about four months ago. I need to see if I can get it warrantied through microsoft first (and how much it may cost). If it can get be fixed for cheap or free, I will post it up here...hopefully it is cheap seeing as I have no need for two xbox360's

Congrats! Blackbenz...Now you will need a 5 Gal resevoir cuz that pump will move a mountain and may just bust your intercooler or HE with that kind of pressure. Also flow rate might be too fast without a rear resevoir?

You might have a CEL issue...

I think Eurocharged can "turn off" the O2 sensors as far as the ECU is concerned...thus preventing any CEL. BOR can check on that though, I know they can do it for the 32k ECU, not positive about V12TT ECU though.

Can't I just relocate the O^2 sensors?

I have a set of W210 OEM rear tails and a pair of K&N E55 W210 air filters laying around (not that anyone here would be looking for that)

CM30 pump as a PIF
 

Conditional on winning an item I submitte a request for I have a CM30 intercooler pump I will add as a PIF. The value should be about the same.

Also, I'd like to add yet another set of bulbs to my PIF list. 4300k HID bulbs in a 9006 casing (fits in OEM foglights); note that this is BULBS ONLY, not ballasts & igniters.

So my updated PIF is:

OEM 4300K D2S bulbs; chrome valve stem caps; 4300K 9006 HID bulbs.

What's wrong with that? I got a broken MAF sensor for a C55 so what's the chance that someone else needs that very same item? I've already added two more items that MANY people can use.

I believe that the issue here is "request". We had another member, condescending or something like that, make a request and offered a HT sub without ever mentioning brand, condition, pics, etc. He was shut down fast

I mean, I have no authority here, but I started this thread in the spirit of giving. Not winning, taking, or swapping. You already have a list of PIF items, which you've asked for nothing in return, which is commendable. Since you now have this popular Johnson pump that you're looking to get something good for, it might be better just to sell it and use the funds on something accordingly. You'll have exactly ZERO problem selling that pump as it's a very popular item that people are always looking for.

But again people, I make no claims to have any authority over what anyone on here, or in the thread particular, does with their own items. Just try to remember why this thread was started is all I ask.

There a couple of broken tabs as shown by the arrows. The plastic lense has a couple small scratches as shown, but it's all minimal and you can fix it easy and rock some sweet headlights! Did I mention they are BIXENON?!?!? :bow::eek:

They come with Ballast. I'll see if I have some bulbs laying around too. Winner pays for shipping, but I may pick up the tab depending on where. It's a big ass box!

i have a c32 02 , any one ever had that problem that would like to help ? i searched every where and ask every shop around here and nothing, replaced pump with ford lightning , same after it warms up it 's slow .

Godfather, could I pick up just the driver's side housing from you? My adjuster is apparently broken and un-adjustable... the beam is way too low, it's gotten to the point where I literally have to drive around with my high beams on to see at night (meaning I almost never drive at night). The driver beam is WAY too low. Dealership told me it's measured by a sensor on the control arm and there's no way to fool that (you'd think I could put in a capacitor or something to fool it into raising the headlight an additional inch or two); there's a manual adjust knob on the headlight but I guess that's what's broken on mine.

I don't need the ballast, bulb, or really anything other than the driver's side housing itself. I'd gladly pay shipping.

Also, yet another thing to add to my list, another set of 9006 HID bulbs, this time in 6000K. So far that's a set of stock D2S 4300K bulbs, a set of 9006 4300K bulbs, and a set of 9006 6000K bulbs. Great for foglights. Still trying to get ones that match my headlights though (5000K)

amgsc is the steering wheel still available? also is the c/f lip for a r170? im interested in these 2 items
