I can do a lot remotely but miracles take a little longer. My crystal ball is in the shop right now for calibration. Sorry.

Maybe your calibration guy can also calibrate my airmatic

My wife's car just says not activated, but it says it about every 8 minutes and kills the music for a few seconds to do it. VERY annoying!

Its the wrong approach to set Tele Aid to not present when it’s still part of the MOST ring. Tele Aid works with a whole bunch of other control modules and they look for it to be present, active and fully working. This is dealership quality coding. :( I expect nothing less than that from a moron mechanic and people who have not understood a thing about the system itself and how it works.

There is a specific setting to disable this message while everything else is still working as expected.

The correct steps are explained in WIS but that means one would actually have to get familiar with WIS, look it up and read it.

Can anybody guide me on how to reset or normalize the steering column height adjustment in star? I replaced the dog bone when the motor was all the way up and the column was all the way down.

No such thing. Motor knows top and bottom by increased current flow once it reaches the end.

BC928 05-25-2019 12:11 PM

Sorry, can you define dogbone? Are you talking about the universal joint for steering before the rack?

Mackhack 05-25-2019 03:33 PM

It’s a piece of white rubber that looks like a dog bone or a sand clock which connects the electric motor with the steering rack’s gear box to electrically raise and lower the steering column with the steering wheel on it.

There is a thread on here about the repair when this rubber piece snaps in half. There are also some pictures. Feel free to search for it. It’s quiet enlightening.

I've changed the instrument cluster with a white dials one, but it's not just a plug&play device.
How can I pair (or code) the new instrument cluster, with the other computers of the car in DAS/Xentry?
I am asking because the milage is not correct, the segments from the cruise cntrl are not shown and I have a speedtronic error on the new instrument cluster display.

A used cluster is never plug and play. Feel free to PM me if you want me to get it going. Include which cluster, model and model year of your car.

The linkage was stuck. had to remove it for the column and turn it by hand to free it. works good now. funny how you can normalize the seat but not the steering column

Completely different approach of detecting positions.

Well, since I keep buying more MBs I guess it's time to get a star setup. I think I have a handle on most of it, but I keep getting hung up on is whether I should be buying a C3 or C4 or C5 or C6 or what. Can someone point me in the direction of the info I need to make this decision? Thanks!

- Part D is old (unless you only buy MBs up until 2009 it’s all you need)
- SDconnect is all you need
- Xentry Connect was never cloned by anyone. You’ll buy a SDconnect in a Xentry connect case
- Bosch VCI I’m not sure if the Chinese cloned it yet

Now I have two speeds on my IC.
The needle of the speedometer shows a different value than the speed displayed in the middle.
Even the units are in km/h, the speed shown in the middle display is mph. The video is a DAS test, but it behaves in the same way when I drive the car.
Example: Speedometer needle = 100km/h --- speed displayed in the middle = 62
Speedometer needle = 260km/h --- speed displayed in the middle = 160

How can I correct this with Xentry/DAS??

It’s an easy fix. Just keep asking in different forums after I offered my help. Seeing dashes instead of mileage I know you still have a long ways to go. Good luck to you.

It's not an easy fix as long as nobody give me an answer and I keep asking in different forums because I haven't got an answer yet.
You offered me your help by charging me with $200. That's not help, that's a paid service (and by the way, two of the first errors I solved by myself by studying different forums)
I need people who can share information, not sell them. For example posts #73 or #383 are helpful for those guys who want to change those things.

I hope you got my point ;-)

No because you violate forum rules and if you would want it fixed properly you would have gotten help. If everyone could do it why don’t you fix it yourself? You must be a socialist or an entitled millennial with an attitude. Never mind. You’re the man. Just keep driving around with dashes in your cluster.

How did he violate forum rules? Most people come to forums to figure out how to DIY not pay folks a couple hundred bucks to give them answers. You can insult him as much as you want but if you look at the situation (a guy looking for a solution to an issue on an online forum/community) you are certainly the one out of line.

Shows that nobody reads the rules when they sign up including yourself. Enough said about this.

There is a good reason people don’t just hand over everything for free. It takes time, skills and knowledge. Just because some in this world feel entitled to get everything handed for free, doesn’t mean I have to help him for free. And the amount of clusters I work on shows I’m doing something right.

He’s the one driving around with dashes not me. So figure it out on your own, buy a new cluster or live with it.

Actually lots of people share information here for free, except for you trying to get $200 to tell this guy what setting to change hahha, loser.

You’re right... so many creepy, false information on here. But losers like yourself follow them like brainwashed lemmings over the cliff to your death.

If it would only be a setting ROFL

You are the loser by not understanding a thing that’s going on with his cluster. You two should get together. Perfect teammates LOL
