loss of power 07 E63 AMG

I Have a 2007 E63 AMG with loss of power from 0-60. In other word from stop it takes a few seconds to really become alive and really go with all the power. When the traction control in off it does NOT BURN TIRES!!!
This is really crazy 507 hp and no burning tires on take off (w/traction control off). Is been in the Mercedes shop 4 times in 6 weeks with no results. They change because of noise all the lifters and 3 cam shaft sensors. Tere is no codes or nothing coming back when something is wrong with the engine or transmition. I took car to dyno test and is putting about 507 hp.
Anybody knows what my be wrong?
Shoul it be burning tires in take off with the traction control off ?

Try reseting your ecu and then jam it hard a few times so your ECU addapts to agressive driving style.

How long have you owned the car? Or is this something that just recently happened? The reason I ask is my car felt under powered too, once I got an ecu tune it became a totaly different car.

The car feels the same with tc on or off and manual transmition. It is very frustrating!! to say the least. Does any one knows if it suppose to burn tires on take off. All the articles and pictures say yes. I have a picture of the car w/smoke tires and the smoke about 4 feet tall.

My car burns tires like crazy as soon as I give it full throttle. You may want to check if the tranny is starting in 2nd gear. In Sports mode, the car should start in 1st gear not second. Some of the early 07 models used to always start in 2nd, but there has been a software update by Mercedes that fixed that problem back in February of 2007.

What do you mean you run it in "manual s"? Do you mean you put it in S mode then downshift manually to first gear? Or do you actually run it in M mode? Generally speaking, if you put the car in Sports mode with ESP off and then slam the gas pedal to the ground, it should spin tires as you lose a lot of traction.

If the dyno is showing correct output and the tranny seems fine and no codes, then take it to your tech and have him show you how to smoke your tires. And then set aside a special bank account for tires. Eventually you'll learn to NOT to disengage ESP unless you own a rubber plantation.

You said you dynoed the car and it put down 507 hp...... how much power did you put to the wheels? The 507 is only a conversion number. Also, can you please post the dyno chart? Maybe we can try and diagnose the problem from there. Also, did you monitor your A/F ratios?

Before I got my ecu tune it would take a minute for the power to get delivered it had to get up into the rpms. I remember that it was a little difficult to light the tires up. Since I got my tune the tires break loose under partial throttle so I did notice a big difference. I have an early build 07, I think it was an Aug 06 build (I would have to look at the car). I have said it before I dont think they worked all the bugs out in the early models.

Re: 07 E63 Traction

Rocket, without knowing what temps you are driving in (i.e. hot?), it sounds like something is amiss with your car.

My 07, which had the latest MB engine software updates applied (as of last July), will lite up the tires big time with ESP "off" through 1st and well into 2nd gear. Heck, it will even light them with ESP on on colder days. With traction, I am getting to 60 in 4 sec flat in Sport mode without a sweat and it pulls to 100 and beyond very quickly. I am pleased with the performance of this (stock) car.

Not sure it is relevant to your car, but I did get a CEL out of the blue two weeks ago, and the dealer replaced my intake gaskets, which not only smoothed out my idle but also eliminated all off idle throttle hesitation. My car definitely runs better all around since the new gaskets.

I'd ask your dealer to apply the latest engine and transmission calibrations, it should help. Good luck, and keep us posted.

My '07 will ROAST the tires from a dead stop, in sport mode. With ESP off, the tires will expload. My car has a slight lifter tick too, the dealer says it's normal. The car is an absolute BEAST! Try taking your car to a trusted indy shop for diagnosis. Something ain't right.

+1

Just also had CEL recently come on and dealer replaced the intake gasket(s) as too much air was going in and causing rough idle, also WOT response improved. Dealer also loaded latest software (took 2 days cuz the compuer in Germany went down ) too but I still start in 2nd gear on "C", did someone say that was changed to not occur? Once I switch to "S" I can actually feel the gear change to 1st when sitting at a light. I'm actually fine with C staring in 2nd, saves on the rubber

My 07 starts in second at times. It's weird actually because on occasion it does start in first. I drive it in sport all the time and do a lot of paddle shifting. I've noticed with off brand gas (93 oct.)the performance drops off quite a bit. I have no problem mashing the pedal @ 25mph and spinning the tires w/esp off. If I had the ESP off and gave it the beans from a dead stop my tires would turn into smoke and black streaks on the road!!!

I have had similar experience with the Cayenne when the fuel pump got clogged, not sure about Mercedes but the Cayenne did not show any warnings or codes. As for the E63, have not had any problems. I would suggest what someone mentioned previously...reset the ECU and drive it hard! By the way, is the car totally stock?

Thanks for all the coments! The car is stock. I found out the car was first purchase in 06 . So, this is an early edition.
I did the ECU on switch, gas pedal for 5 second then release when you turn back the switch and finally I waited about 2-3 minnutes. Nothing happend I did this about 3 times.
The Dyno test was done because I felt that something was wrong with the take off (start from zero in any mode) It was done in a POWERDYNE and the results were for
Eng Torque MAX 352
Eng Power 431
1/4 mile 13.03 Speed 110.944 (depends on the driver maybe it could be better but I don't know if this is to bad or aver. even with driver in considaration).
WHAT IS CEL?
Sorry for my ignorance I'm just trying to figure out what to do. The car has 51600 miles already. The good thing is I took the car to the shop 4 times with diferent complaints Plus always the lack of POWER . They don't know what it is. They think is a bad up-grade flash on the engine and transm. But in the middle of the visits they change cam sensors and lifters.

If I do a straight launch in M mode, with some brake loading, I don't spin...It just lanunches...I do have 275's on the rear...Now If i roll full power from about 5-10 in 1st they light up...It's weird, but nice at the strip...I've Vboxed a 12.25 @ 117 on a -1% grade (and I don't have my Carbonio on right now), but that takes timing lights out of the equation...

C will always start in 2nd unless you paddle it down...It's just slipping your torque converter...
