FUBARed Sun Visor...options for repair?
I have a driver's side sun visor that does not stay all the way up (sags about 1") and has a lot of resistance when flipping up or down.
Anyone tried surgery on these to repair the or is replacement the way to go? I haven't priced it but I am guessing around $600 or so. I am still covered by CPO but the CPO warranty probably won't cover that as it would be termed "normal wear and tear".

It looks like it is possible to pull the "rod" out of the visor but I am not sure about accessing spring clips or whatever mechanism holds it in place.

No, not yet...I blew out a hernia last week (getting it fixed Tuesday) so I haven't even thought about calling my dealer.

They (dealer) have some kind of upgrade that they can do to make it stronger than stock because it is a very flimsy design. Cost me a hundred bucks to fix and no problems since. Now my driver's side is bad but just don't use it that much, but will eventually do that to the driver's side too.
