I want my E63 back. Badly. This car has turned out to be a disappointment, but I should have expected it from GM. They will never change. There is no new GM. There is about 9 TSBs out on this car already on both the 9s and 10s. I miss my trouble free Benz.

So far I have all these issues:
Front wheels clicking when turning
Rear end popping
Sunroof creaking
Dash creaking
Cheap plastic dash that scratches when you look at it
Interior trim falling apart
Rain sensing wipers not working

Sadly, these arent even just my issues. The majority of the cars have some if not all of these issues.

Like you said GM will never change. your suppose to just suppose to jam the throttle and the brakes the whole time to take your mind off of the crap. I got a 96 WS6 TA , it was falling apart with in 6 months. bushing rotting out. dash pieces falling off. seat wear and exhaust rattles , drive shaft vibration. I sadly only drove it 6,000 miles a year as well. I have given up on GM except for cheap HP and transportation. only buy used so you know what your getting. sorry but true. the sad part is back when you got what you paid for , at a lower price , then they thought they were equal to BMW, MB, Lexus. not the case.

You are so right it is not even funny. The sad part is that Americans have come to not only accept ****, but now they defend it. The people on the Cadillac forum are extremely narrow minded and see no other way but the V being on top.

GM is getting fixed up, just yesterday GM anounced to all their Cheverolet dealers the term "CHEVY" was not to be used anymore. Now that is what I call rock solid improvement!

Im trying to find it, turned the lease in a few months ago. They wanted stupid money for the lease buyout so I let them take it. I ran the carfax last week and nothing has updated yet so I am guessing the dealer still has it.

Sorry to hear that... I was really hoping they would've ensured high quality at least on the V models but guess not

It's a different breed over on the CTS-V forum. Blind, blind, blind brand loyalty.

I enjoy this forum b/c all high end cars are appreciated. The discussions on Porsches being a great example. On the Caddy forum, everything sucks if it's not GM, and it's "HILARIOUS" if someone posts otherwise.

Sorry about your troubles. Pretty disappointed to hear as I had high hopes for the CTS-V and often thought of potentially owning one in the future. On paper it seems a slam dunk.
Thanks for sharing and good luck with your quest.

The CTS-V, on paper, is a great car. Great performance for decent $$$; however, that is where I stop liking them. I don't know if MB has spoiled me or what, but I just don't like the interiors of most American cars (and I am not talking about just the materials used in production, but the layout, etc.). I was looking at a Dodge Challenger 570x at a local Dodge dealer the other day and was asking the salesperson about it. He said 700+ horsepower (asked him if it was engine hp or wheel hp... he insisted it was whp [which I found out it is NOT!!!]), yada, yada, yada.. Then I looked inside... $90k for that car? I don't think so! If I wanted that interior I would pull out my 76 Mustang and finish the restore...

That to me is why I chose my E55... I love the interior (I test drove many comparable vehicles, M5, M6, Audi's, etc.,) but I did just did not like what they had the offer. I loved my E55 from the moment I sat in the vehicle and I hadn't even drove it yet....

Thanks for sharing, and good luck finding your e63. I had considered the cts-v, but the interior just didn't have the same feel and look as my e.

Also true. I think we have all been spoiled by Mercedes.

Unfortunately alot of the cars (the majority) experience one if not all of those problems.

Chevy Trailblazer- nearly got into fight at the dealer to buy the darn thing. Just massive double talk and when I got the best of them they refused to buy our trade. Ran like crap with service department fighting us all the way on every service visit. Then toward the end of the factory warranty I asked about the tranny that I thought was going bad. Was told "with just 10k or less to go on warranty, we usually don't cover major things like that"

Finally ditched and went QX56 and without question is the greatest suv ever made with near flawless service. Brand new QX56 hitting markets in the next 60. We're so in!

American has come a long way but still so far to go.

RE: 09 CTSV

I feel your pain and concur 100%. I bought one of the 1st 09 CTSV for sale, and after a year/3600 miles, it had pretty much everything on your list plus diff whine and soft paint that constantly needed touching up from chips/scrathes. Add in so/so dealer service and I was done after 11 months. I was fortunate enough to unload mine for $4K less than I got it for new....to a caddy dealer no less who did not have any and paid up to get one. I replaced it with my SL600 and have never looked back or even thought about the Caddi.

The CTSV was fast, mine was auto and had the W4M tune....it was definitely a few ticks faster than my E63, but the rest of the car reflected sloppy assembly and cost cutting everywhere one looked. For what it's worth, my SL600 with stage 1 tune would have whooped my CTSV hands down.

GM still has a long way to go based my ownership experience. Barring bringing out some incredible new product.....which was sort of what the 09 CTSV was.....I won't be back anytime soon.

what they ask on the buyout??? my car is coming due in 10 months and since i got 30,000 miles on it im debating maybe buying a 09 and doing a part swap on it and just return the 08 , especially if they are looking for a crazy dollar amount .
