Armrest Bubbles...who's got 'em and what to do?

I searched to no avail.

Lately I've been noticing others with the clamshell style armrest have the same bubbling problem I do (where an air bubble develops seemingly just below the top layer of material on the armrest--mine is the one spot I put my elbow on--as expected).

Anyone know a fix?

Yikes, I was going to try this but now I'm not sure. Did you follow all the steps (i.e. apply heat and then ice immediately after) or just apply the heat?

shardul Jul 6, 2010 05:54 PM

heat and ice

Where did you buy the replacement? Contact info?

i just did the heat/ice method yesterday and (no jinx) it still looks like new today. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays, but i'll post updates if not.

btw...i used a VERY hot blowdryer (i'm glad i got some use out of my wife's ridiclously expensive blowdryer) for 10-15 seconds and a cold compress pack for 30-45 seconds (I pressed the pack firmly against the surface).
