Yes, it is unfortunate how the W211 E63 just did not get the deserved attention like the E55 and new W212 E63. But I am still happy with mine.:zoom:

Actually the sticky picture thread at the top of this section, even though reads "E55 Picture Thread", is for both E55 and E63 pictures.
Great cars :y |

I keep looking at that white E63 and wondering if I bought the right color. The white looks REALLY nice.

Greg White w/pano is the best color, IMO :y I had a white E55 w/pano. Attachment 408458 If I could find a white E63 wagon, I would buy it. Have to settle for silver, though. :D |

Nice pics. Maybe i should get my a$$ out and take some photos of mine as well. It's an iridium silver E63 (completely stock). I'm thinking about wrapping it matte black though. Any inputs?
Also, where can i get a diffuser for my beloved car :) Google has been too helpful :/ Sorry if the answer is obvious. |
Come on, anyone?

I'll put some more pics when it gets sunnier outside.

We got 1/2 inch of frozen rain, so my baby is tucked in the garage and i'm the wife's SUV today! The funny thing is that the E63 has a brand new set of Blizzak LM60 snow tires on it, but I still drive my Sierra 2500 HD on snowy days like today. Check out the 3M carbon wrap film. I ordered a free sample kit and the black carbon in the kit is very similar to the carbon leather trim in the M3 except it is a bit more glossy.

So I am trying to figure something out. Why are there two different color center caps in the OEM E63 wheels? Some cars seem to have a silver center cap with the star, and others seem to have a darker gray or black center cap with the star. What's the deal? :nix:

There is only one OEM center cap, silver. Available for purchase on flea bay is the dark grey or black center caps. The darker ones are tempting with a silver or white car, however for $70.00 a set they are a little too much. You probably already know this, to get a set installed you have to take the wheels off, which is a hassle.

maybe they can make it a sticky :y anyways, im planning on doing some mods (ECU eurocharge, wheels, etc) but this is what i got for now. - detail and wax every edge of the car, engine and interior (by me) - lowered via STAR - flat badge - front CF lip from gary (not installed yet) Attachment 408535 Attachment 408536 |
100% stock except for a complete de-badging all the way around. Complimentary SUV ride height, ugly (but legal) front plate, bright orange factory reflectors, and brake dust filled stock 18" rims. :)

Ok, I have a huge problem! My E63 was bought in San Diego, so they drilled into my front bumper for the license plates!
Do I really have to buy a new bumper to go without front plates, here in AZ no front's needed. I ask because I am seriously jealous of you non front plate guys. I've never seen the very front part of my bumper, that sharp pointy angle is so sexy! |

you've progressed nicely my friend! Aj |
It is a 335. I use it for business trips, over 100k miles and 406whp/442wtq. It may be faster than the E63! (Although the E63 is stock)

Correct AMG RL, They are Forgestar F14's in gunmetal. I went with 18's because I may track the car sometimes, and drive enthusiastically in the car. 18x8.5 front and 18x10 rear.

I've never been on the E63 threat before and I just want to say all of your cars are absolutely stunning. Very very beautiful and clean, all of you really put thought into making unique cars that look (and sound I'm sure) fantastic. I would give anything to have an E63! Hate to play favorites but Dannish23 yours has to be one of the sleekest I've ever seen.
|
thanks alot brother, really appreciate it
|
You (and all of you) really deserve it. I hope to get my E550 looking half as good as that E63 one day. Just a question, where did you end up getting those WALD daytime running lights? I love the stuff from WALD but from what I have been able to find on the forum Vividracing and one other company are the only US distributors.

Ok. I'll play! I think I have a pretty unique 63 too as I have looked at every picture in this thread and have yet to see one like it...
2008 Capri Blue Metallic with P2 and P030 package. Actually I think it has everything except the Distronic, which does not really hurt my feelings. These pics are from when I bought it a couple of months ago. Since then have changed out the side markers to clear ones. The car only has 30K on it! Really like everything about the car except the transmission...seems like lots of engine breaking and slows shifts. I know I need a transmission mount replaced and hope fixing that might take care of some of it. For some reason I cant attach a couple of pics that I already put into another thread...so if anyone is interested here is the link to the other thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...er-member.html |
Very pretty blue color.

Just arrived, dirty, stock and needs a good nights sleep. BUT .. Tomorrow the real work starts :-). Already have the carbon front lip, rear diffuser, new badge from DFWdude. Next will be 19" wheels , a little detailing with very small amounts of plasti dip on the emblems etc etc etc , I am sure it's going to go on. Just got to love that exhaust note !!!
Can't figure out how to add pictures tho !! |

Dammit Fila I need to expedite this process of selling my car, you're making me jealous ;), you all are. What are the specs on those wheels and tires they look sick! I can't decide between finding a black one (more common and more my territory) like above or going with an arctic white car and getting some gray Vossen CV3s.
Also how is that thing in the snow Meeyatch1 those pictures are incredible. |

Also how is that thing in the snow Meeyatch1 those pictures are incredible. hahahaa thanks Joey. the wheels are 285/30/19x9.5 in the rear and 255/35/19x8.5 in the front. I actually looked into white e63's with pano before this one. I always wanted a white one, and almost closed a deal on one in Texas. I just ended up falling in love with this one because of how tastefully modded this black one was by the previous owner. He did an amazing job at keeping it clean inside and out, as well as mechanically. I'm sure the right car will come up when you least expect it. It took me 2 months to find the right e63, and before that, 4 months to find the right e550 4matic. |

It rocks it, with proper tires. We are up in Barrie, Ontario, Canada for the holidays and have had about 2 or 3 feet of snow, with a wicked ice storm…all in the past week, and the car is fine with the Bridgestone Blizzaks on there. As long as you drive with common sense, the car flies right along. :zoom: :y

LOL! How long ago was this? I ask because I originally was planning to buy a white E63 with Pano roof from Texas, and drove the black one I ended up buying strictly because I wanted to make sure I liked the E63 before buying the white one. Little did I know, I would love the stealth look of the black with tinted windows when I saw it, and the white one never happened. Funny how things happen. :D

The car had a complete correction. (Bought Used and was a car wash queen)This will give you a total rundown of what a total correction should include inside and out. It is a lot of work, but since this is mine I did go overboard to make it as perfect as possible. 20 hours probably were for nit picking things that a customer would never see or care about. Some scratches are not worth removing or trying if its not your car. Mistakes can happen, so a good detailer knows when to not try, and explain that in detail so the customer knows why. If they don't go over the car and make comments of things over their ability, or things that cannot be removed, please seek out someone else to do the work. Professionals charge appropriately for this high end type of work. This would have cost 1250-1500 plus the Glass coating work of 400. ( Interior 400, Exterior 850-1100, Glass coatings 400) If someone is way below these prices start asking questions. I did a BMW 750Li total similar but not as many hours and no glass coat, for 800 total, so cheaper is not bad, but does give indications of quality of work) Just be careful when getting this done. The guy is removing layers of Clear Coat to make it right, and without it being professionally done, (very few are professional correctors), more Clear Coat than what is absolutely necessary could be taken off which is really bad. Always ask if they have a Paint Depth Gauge, if they do and use it, get the numbers first and ask them to explain them. Then you will know if they are professional. Prepped by washing w/ Chemical Guys Citrus Wash (strips all sealants off, clean surface, along w/ P21S Total Auto Wash. (approximately 1 hour) Clay Bar was used after the vehicle was washed. Each Wheel was removed and totally cleaned w/ P21s Wheel Cleaner inside and out, wheel wells were scrubbed perfect and all suspension parts individually cleaned with various products. (approximately 2 hours) (immediately found a split by the inside of a rim on the tire, could have been a bad situation, especially being right after the purchase, we all hammer the cars when we first get them) Plastic in wheel wheels were treated w/ Opti-Seal Paint Sealant (OS), found out this sealant keeps the black color the longest, so I use it on all black plastic parts. Exterior plastic was also done at the same time. (approximately 1.5 hours) Wheels were treated w' 22PLE Glass Coating inside and outer sides (no further chemicals for cleaning, just soap and water from now on) 1 hour Engine and under hood was scrubbed with P21s and a Boars Hair brush. Then dressed with the OS paint Sealant, under hood also. 1 hour Interior was vacuumed wiped down with Meguiar's Interior Cleaner. Leather Surfaces were treated with Leatherique 2 stage process (approximately 1 hour application, 30 hours soaking, 2 hours second step removal) Then other surfaces were treated with Meguiar's Interior Detailer non gloss. All Wood surfaces were taped off or taken out then buffed with Menzerna SF4500 with a Griots Garage 3"(GG) and a finishing pad. Glass Coated w/ 22PLE glass coating. (total 4 hours) Outer Glass surfaces were prepped by using a Glass polish w/ the GG. Panorama Roof not done (scratches and not real glass) was only cleaned with glass cleaner. They were both then coated w/ GTechniq g1 Clear Vision Smart Glass coating. (approximately 1 hour) Paint was inspected and measured with a paint gauge. Determined a few scratches were not worth trying to remove and taped those off, then taped all trim and rubber sections along doors. Noticed that the Bumpers were so heavily swirled and the rockers on both sides were fading, that it wasn't worth the time or effort to correct, they are better off being re-painted. I have a friend who does that for me, excellent work but inexpensive financially. cheaper for me to have re- painted than to do the work. Also allows me to clean the areas under those spots. (Found out that a Maserati Quattroporte had actually been in a wreck by seeing under the bumper covers for a customer) (approximately 2 hours) Step 1- Cutting - Rotary Buffer w/ Heavy Cutting pad Menzerna FG400 for lower doors (approximately 3 hours) Step 2- Cutting - Flex 3401 DA (setting 4-6) w/ Meguiar's D300 on Microfiber Cutting pad, used LC Hydro Orange Cutting pads also. Couple small sections were done with a Griot's Garage 3" DA buffer (also used Menzerna SF4000 with the cutting pads for some lighter marring)(different pads work differently on separate panels)(used 4-5 pads ea for the whole car, 1 pad to 1.5 panels)(washable to those who don't know) (approximately 15-20 hours) Step 3- Polishing - Flex 3401 DA (setting 3-4) w/ Meguiar's Microfiber Finishing pads and LC Hydro Cyan Finishing Pads. Menzerna SF4000 Polish for removing the light marring from the cutting process. Couple small sections were done with a Griot's Garage 3" DA buffer, 4-5 pads for the whole vehicle. (clean pads work best) (approximately 8 hours) Step 4- Polishing - Flex 3401 DA (setting 2) w/ LC Black non cut Finishing Pad, Menzerna SF4500, Jeweled the paint to perfection, well as much as possible, most panels came out perfect, but not all scratches were removed. ( 3 hours) Door Jambs were hand polished and then coated with the 22ple when that process was done. Step 5- Cleaned vehicle with the P21s Total Auto Wash to remove all oils and any residue left over from the polishing process. Inspected paint to make sure all issues were taken care of. Most marring or swirls (80%) are created by the drying process. Microfiber towels, specifically for drying should be used, but I don't!!! I use a Master Blaster Blower to dry the vehicles so I don't add any marring or scratches in the drying process. ($75 autogeek) (Takes 15 extra min) 1 hour Step 6- (extra step not necessarily needed) Primed w/ Modesta PO1-A glass coating primer. (chemical make-up of primer is same silica resin so works in conduction (it is measurable and does increase gloss levels, even if only slightly) Removed primer and let cure for 3 hours (took 1 hours to apply w/ GG 3" using a finishing polish pad and remove) Step 7- 22PLE Glass Coating to top the primer. Applied with cut up foam pad and removed w/ microfiber cloths. Remember, always throw away microfiber cloths after removing any type of semi permanent or permanent coatings. 1 hour with a 48 hour cure time. Step 8- Polish Angel Liquid Carnuba Wax under the Esoteric Label to top off the Glass Coating. These two products work together to increase gloss levels and create depth to the gloss. It is not needed, but since its my car I did it anyway. Carnuba wax only lasts approximately 3 weeks pending weather, hotter it is the less it lasts. The glass coating lasts 1 year +. easy to top. (approximately 1 hours to apply and remove with plush microfiber cloths) I DO NOT use any types of Detail spay or Spray Wax after this process. These add layers to the coatings which I do not want. When out of town and washing, I use a wool mitt at a self car wash and Chemical Guys MR. Pink soap. I dry it with a drying microfiber cloth AND AMMO Hydro Paint Moisturizer which I have found is a must. Best product I have ever used, but not cheap. Most any products that are able to be purchased locally are not what should be used. Several places on the net. have what should be used, and that does not mean necessarily more. Learning what or how to do the work can be found on AMMONYC.com website. Larry has many walkthrough video's that will explain each step and various tools. He does NOT push his products, so its not a sales video like most out there are. That is why I will give that info out. His products are top notch though, so if you purchase them you will get the desired results. Microfiber products are a must through the process. Suggestion--- purchase two packs of Microfiber towels from Home Depot, white and orange ones for the polishing removal process. The blue ones can be bought for cleaning really dirty areas and then thrown out. I use plush ones for wax removal and dusting (damp and with the AMMO moisturizer. Make sure all washings are done with a GOOD Wool Mitt and the two bucket method is religiously used. Wipe from the top down. Hope this helps out some forum members, I know this was long but it was thorough. Car took a total of 55 hours to accomplish. Any questions PM me. Thanks |

Thanks Great write up! Almost the same process as me except the cleaning of wheels and inner fender wells as I never tried. |
Awesome information!

Bought it with 69k in Feb, got the last extended warranty a company offered for AMG's. By 73k the conductor plate needed to be replaced and was done on that warranty. At the same time the Pano roof motor went on the blink too. Got 78k on her now, and she runs absolutely perfect, but thinking on selling for a AM. Not sure what I want to do. I love it and would like to keep it, but not sure if I want two 500hp cars at the same time. My issue is before I know it, it will have 100k+ and then do I keep it for a long time, or just move to a 40k miles car, since I will have a true garage queen also. But here is two pics of the QPhttp://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/844/dydp.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/36/7fmz.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/12/3lin.jpg |

However I feel really stupid when people see me actually taking the pictures of the car and not the scenery. No telling what they are actually thinking. LOL

Nice to see so much effort put into that - I spend a ton of time doing the same. For the Pano roof - I used Meguires water spot remover, looks better than new, a pretty good product for glass, or in this case the Pano roof. |

Looking into doing performance modifications soon. Probably going to start with exhaust. |
Great pictures too, inb4 "wow you must have a great camera" (that's like saying "wow this meal is great you must have a great oven"), whoever did your pictures nailed it on the black and white one. Looks awesome.

10.5 rear 305/30/20, going down to a 295/30/20. (Rubs, not lowered or rolled in the rear). |
Hows the ride? I am in the market for wheels but I was trying to stay away from 20s because I heard the ride is rough and I daily mine to top it off

The ride is rough because most people run a 25 series tire in the rear with 20s, I switched to a 30 series and it drastically improved ride quality. 18 and 19s will obviously ride better because you can run a taller tire but 20s aren't bad, this is the most comfortable car I've owned (previous 3 M cars), I dd it and travel frequently on the highway. |
If you do go 20s try getting a quality 20 though, it will save you weight, but the main thing is rigidity - if you don't go flow forged or forged monoblock and the roads are bad where you live you will bend them extremely quickly with a skinnier tire sidewall as well.

Ya damn those are the exact rims I want, but roads are so bad here I'm thinking max 19 maybe even just keep the 18s.

They make the V99 Axis in 19 now, but that is also my dilemma

i would go for them in a 19 !

P101 http://cdn.hrewheels.com.s3.amazonaw...b004a557d2.png Don't get me wrong id love those but the cost for something similar is unreasonable (yes quality is "so called" better). Also about 6 different companies make these exact "style" wheels. 20's with a 35 series tire up front and 30 rear keep ride quality great and protect the wheel pretty good. (For those asking about size) |
Here's my E63, at one of its favorite places. Wheels are Niche Targas in Anthracite. 19X8.5 and 9.5. 245's and 275's, respectively.

(For those asking about size) I think they all look great in this style, I myself would just prefer the HRE's.....I've not had as many as some around here :) but the 5 sets that I do have are built to last, lifetime structural guarantee and are light as a feather as far as wheels are concerned :) and if you can keep them clean, which I sort of can, they look beautiful:y thanx for posting

They're no doubt a P101 look a-like, and I would love to own a set one day, but as for now, being in college and not having that kind of cash to dump on just wheels, I'll take the Axis. The P101s are forged, lighter, better built, but just too expensive at the moment to justify :y
And I think the Axis look great also; it's just I know what I'm getting with HRE:naughty: |

Thanks for all of the useful pics guys - selling my Range Rover and getting back into a Benz, probably an E63 like one of these.
First time back on this site in a while! |
I located this thread on page 12. Why isn't this thread sticky? How about a little love for E63 owners? It's hard enough to find relevant E63 threads with E55 and E63 both being W211s. Many posters have asked for sticky status, why not?

Ah ok, I was searching for cars with 60k or under and I see your car has cashmere interior (I was dead set on black). Mind me asking what you paid? And what year is it? I would absolutely trade my black one in if I found a nice white one :( But I got sick of searching and waiting. Same thing with when I was looking for an alpine white/black BMW E38 740 M sport for years.

LoL. Bro... I snapped a pic of your car about a month ago. Cruising on Goldenwest Ave going South.
Then a week later or so, I saw your car parked at some type of event (wedding) in the parking lot by Sam's Club. Very clean setup. :y <a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/commercial-photography/california/palm-springs/"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/axz0VRm.jpg" alt="Palm Springs commercial photography"></a> |
Those are some clean shots. Amazing car as well! Where did you purchase the cf side skirts?
|
Nikehead I'd say you have the nicest 63 I've seen.

Picked up this 2007 today. Artic White, pano roof, black interior. All stock, 73,000 miles. Only thing it needs right now is a left engine mount since it's leaking. I checked out a bunch and this was the nicest out of them. It's also the only one that hadn't had any paint/body work done to it.
Sorry for the ****ty pic. It's been a long day and I just took a few quick ones when I got home. Attachment 443282 |
^looks great - congrats! Hopefully the engine mount gets replaced on their dime. =D

[QUOTE=Strigoi;6898982]They didn't want to deal at all. Luckily my roommate has spent the last 18 years working at an indy shop that only does MB and BMW cars. I'll have both replaced for a bit over $200 in parts plus some lunch and beer for him. :y[/QUOT
Nice car, I like the white and pano. Transmission mount is often done at the same time, while your buddy's under the car so to speak. :naughty: |

^That looks great hachiroku! Looks like Audi's aviator grey. Maybe paint the calipers a different color for contrast? Either way, it looks good! :y
|
What color is that??
|
VW/Audi Nardo Grey. It is a special order color.

a local body shop...he said this is the first and last W211 he paints though. he said for the price he undercharged me as the W211 has double the trim of any other car. He'd probably do another one but not for anywhere near what I paid.

looks good. I like it. |
no...not factory. original color was white. Thanks!

My E55 was totaled in May of this year (not my fault). Recently flew to Atlanta and drove this five hours back to NC. I've been spending the last two weeks doing needed maintenance and getting her sorted out. So far, I've done plugs, air filters, oil change, new battery (still had the original battery, stamped 34/06 on the negative lug!) and all new brakes on all corners. The brakes were unbelievably worn. Next up is brake fluid flush and transmission service but I'm waiting on all the appropriate parts since it's a little different on the 7-speed transmissions. So far so good and no indication that the car is having or has had issues with the head bolts even though the engine falls within the affected range of 156 engines produced with the old style head bolts.
According to the CarFax (among other things), the entire fuel system was replaced at 45k miles which brings me in the window for needing to replace the pump/filter/sender assemblies soon. It's on my to-do list. I'm pretty happy I don't have to worry about the SBC system anymore, so there's one plus. Additionally, I have read the 156 engines have had problems with the intake manifold gaskets leaking due to faulty bolts. That has been taken care of according to the CarFax as well. Engine mounts were replaced around 75k miles and are still holding up (did the brake torque test in the driveway). Only issues I've noticed is sometimes it has a misfire shortly after startup. I checked the codes and it had a "historical" misfire on the #8 cylinder. Switched the coil to possible offending coil to another cylinder to see if I can narrow it down to a coil issue but have yet to have a new code pop up. In my experience, the OBD system won't catch it unless it happens a little more frequently, hence the "historical" code, according to the TorquePro app. Added a few pics of the E55 carnage and the new E63 in the garage next to her older American sister. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...60bbfa9522.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...ad3ea82a5d.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...a6e26f45b6.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...ce903e8776.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...fc315d4c00.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...02764502e2.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...b23f0b2581.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...272d44ebd8.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...71cdeedb5c.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...3d10795869.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...0f8caa7fa5.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...94a1071401.jpg |
63 looks in nice shape!
The 55 must have had some frame damage at the wheel. The body doesn't look too bad. |
The E63 looks nice. Now you just need to get a front lip on it and do a resonator delete. Be sure to pull the charcoal filters from the air boxes. You'll pick up a few horses by doing that.
Post some more pics of the Buick. I've always liked those cars. |

Your car is smoking hot Barry.
Freaking badass. |
Bought my E63 at a dealer in Seattle but I used to valet at Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach so I bought a FJ license plate frame on EBay. Can't wait to get it on when I get my plates! The white looks sharp.
