Exclamation Anyone buying a 55 plan on changing rims

If anyone is planning on up-grading to 19 or 20's please let me know as I am interested in the stock wheels/tires to up-grade my 209 500 17's.

I have the single spoke E55 wheels on my E500 with Potenza S-03's that I'll likely sell when I trade my car in. They have 4k miles. 245/40/18 Front. 275/35/18 rear.

I'm looking for the stock split spoke 18's with tires, going from 17's on my clk 500 to split 18's should be good enough for me. I'm looking for someone that might want to change from the split 18's to the new split 2 piece 19's or another 19 or 20" brand. If you deicide to go for something more unique let me know as I'm in your area.

Thanks

I am considering changing the split spoke 18"s to 19" when me E55 arrives next month. I am located in Atlanta. Will let you know when the car arrives. I have a friend that just ordered the 19's for his SL and I will try them on the E to see how they look.

The W211 E55 rims will not fit the CLK. The offset may be a problem and they used 14mm lugbolts while the CLK uses 12mm bolts.

I had a discussion with Luke @ Tire Rack about this today, he said he was waiting to see something about the center design of the wheel(hubcentric?) (offset?) and he did not seem too concerend about the 12mm vs 14mm. I did see a guy in the 209 section did the conversion, he posted details and pix. Please explain the details to me about your concern regarding the 12mm vs 14mm and offset.

Thanks

RJC, Since you are asking about used wheels you probably are looking for a very low cost upgrade. However, the Double Spoke Wheels for the CLK do come in 18X7.5 and 18X8.5 rear and are readily available from a few Internet vendors already.

In order to use 14mm Bolts you would have to modify/redrill the brake rotor hubs. Then the bolts for your Spare Tire will not fit either.

Checkout the Tire & Wheel section there are many post asking about using 14mm bolt wheels on cars with 12mm Bolts.

The Double Spoke rims for the CLK bolt on directly without any mods:

18X7.5 et37 225/40/18
18X8.5 et34 255/35/18 rear
