get in the car. insert key and move it to the first position (like you would to initiate dyno mode).
you should see a screen that you used to put the car in dyno mode (it says ESP dynamo-meter test on (+) circ. 15 off (-) ). at this point you should see On highlighted. all you need to do is hit the (-) button which should switch the highlight to circ 15 off. with this highlighting in place, turn on the car. voila, no more dyno mode.
if you do not see that screen initially, you will need to flip through the menus until you find that text above. do this like you are flipping screens from audio to navi on the steering wheel.
what were the dyno results? any mods?

I ran a Mustang dyno, which typically give low results, but I was happy. My first pull(also the highest I put down), I made 381rwhp/457rwtq. I think on a Dynojet or the like, I would have made 400rwhp I think.
I'm very happy with my results.

when on the dyno, what settings should the tranny be in and what gear should the pull be in? What about after the pull, just let the car decelerate in the same gear? How do you get a rpm reading?

However, having doing 4th gear, he said there is too much load and we should dyno in 3rd. The car put down very low numbers in 3rd, although the operator said the car should be dyno'd in 3rd.
Anybody else that can comment on what gear to dyno in?
In 4th, I made 398/459 on a Mustang.

Mine was in "M" and I told the dyno guy to do a 4th gear pull when I did mine.

Just put my car into DYNO mode for the first time....pretty easy to do.
I noticed that my ABS light stays on now, but the little ESP triangle does not illuminate in DYNO mode. It seems like I've seen YouTube videos where that light is constantly illuminated on some cars.
I used the following sequence and it seems to work fine:
SIDE NOTE:
Does anyone know what the revision information in the heads up display means?
Once in DYNO MODE, the center display shows the following info:
I/C S/W 0305
Version 0094
I/C H/W 0505
-G

- Key Position #1
- Make sure that the display is showing the outside TEMP on screen
- Hit the Trip Reset counter (3X)
- Hit the "UP" Arrow (2X)
- Hit the "+" on the Steering Wheel to activate dyno mode
- START the car

I also think the 5 second deadline is false as well. I can leave my key in pos. 1 with speed on main screen for ten mins and still click it three times and activate dyno mode.

I was told by The Dyno Shop that holding the ESP button for 5 seconds also activates Dyno mode. I have not tried it yet myself.

So, the car throws down more WHP in Dyno-Mode because the computer is not slowing the car down --- still has the same power thou - Its not unleashing new power that is unavailable during street driving.

Is the yellow triangle (traction) sign should show all the time when we go DYNO mode? I am not sure but I remember it was showing all the time before once I go DYNO mode and now it does not show anymore. Does anyone knows about that?

And here are instructions for EARLY 2003 models E55 W211 (like mine);
1. Insert the key and turn to position 1 (temperature must be on the display!!).
2. Immediately press and hold the trip odometer reset button until the instrument cluster beeps. There is no visual message (except that temperature automaticaly goes/change to speed on the dipslay), only an audio beep. Be patient, this takes around 40 seconds (actualy slightly less).
3. All else is the same like 2003+ procedure
I needed over a year to discover that procedure and put my early 2003 into the dyno mode. So i hope it will be great help for all of those early 2003 E55 owners who can not get into dyno mode with ordinary (3x push reset) procedure.
Btw. that (for early 2003 E55) procedure is the same also for early 2003 SL55.

Also....is there any downside to driving the car in 'dyno mode'? I was trying to do an acceleration run yesterday with the ESP button pushed off, and the remaining electronic nannies kicked in and the car started bucking like a horse like it wanted to go but was being pulled back. So I would like to drive it and do some runs without the computers holding me back.

Sorry for digging in the grave, but just wanted to mention I easily locked the brakes after reading this. I tried it around 60 and jabbed them. I guess I was just being a little girl and threshold them before.
