3" X Pipe mockup and polish
Thought I would share with you guys the x pipe I am going to install next week. It is the VRP down pipes from my modified manifolds plus the magnaflow x I just purchased. The VRP down pipes had some surface rust, so I took 1/2 hour to polish the one for a before and after shot. I am going to polish the x, plus the rusty down pipe twice, and once more on the clean pipe before install. Again, this is with my crappy point and shoot:

I sure will. They are going to mandrel bend and tig weld everything. I am going catless into an x, leaving the resonator and into straight pipes out back for mufflers. I found some real nice polished tips that look very similar to the amg tips too.

Why not have
them sent out to jethot http://www.mydigitalpublication.com/...ation/?i=22398
and have them ceramic coated inside and out
keep them great looking and flow much faster while containing the heat.
Nice project you have tackled
you keeping the primary cats and 02 sensors or tricking the ecu and don't have smog tests down south?

I bought the trick from Bruce at TTM. He hooked me up and I will be running no cats. They will stay polished as I will pull them off the car in the future to redo it when it looks nasty. Ceramic does not shine like this does, however I do plan to have my modified manifolds ceramic coated inside and out once I get them back from the exhaust shop.I like to get my hands dirty

The exhaust is not on yet. I will post a clip once it is installed.
For those interested in the polishing process I performed the following:
1) Wiped the pipes down with lacquer thinner to remove surface rust and dirt
2) started sanding with 320 grit sandpaper
3) followed by 600 gritt sandpaper
4) followed by 1200 gritt sandpaper
5) followed by 2000 gritt sandpaper
6) followed by Poor Boys metal polish
Each pipe took about 2 hours and the x took about 1 hour.
