E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Does anyone truly believe that once a mod'd E55 beats a stroked M5, the argument will be over?

First we have stock vs stock, where most sources show the e55 with the edge, not that it matters as many E55 owners upgrade .
Then we have the fact the the E55 is easy to extract more hp vs the M5, no arguments read there

Then we have open challenges (3 so far?) for a mod'd E55 vs a mod'd M5. No M5 has stepped up, for good reason, unless they are pushing cheater gas.

Now we have hidden stroked M5's. Still nothing..

Doubtfull. People will still complain about driver skills, tires, heatsoak, wrong gear to shine, etc.

TRUE! You are right, there are a few E30 turbo bimmers and such that can blow the doors off of 99.9% of the street cars out there. Though mid 9 sec 911 Turbos or GT-R's with slicks and AWD are pretty hard to beat on the street due to their grip advantage. They also have sick top end. The fastest of these cars are the Viper TT's though. 8 sec and lower...SCARY power

Also, agreed, 110mph rolls are ridiculous lol.

Back to the OP, bottom line is that the E55 spanks the M5. M5 is a bit faster above 125 or so. Modded E55 vs Modded M5 will result in the E55 beating the **** out of the M5. I've seen it myself...and I'm a former M5 owner! The M5 is a "more balanced" car though. But the ***** torque was enough reason for me to leave the band. Not to mention the 2 transmission failures.

Catching up in what?? Straightline? I'm pretty sure that the E60 M5 and E63 M6 are more than enough challenges for the W211 E55 AMG and E63 AMG etc. Even in straightline. Hahahh!

With the upcoming F10 M5 and E55TT 5.5, I'm sure that with the M5's new Double Clutch 7 speed or even 8 speed transmission and lower weight (I'm willing to bet that the F10 M5 will be lighter than the next E55 TT), the F10 M5 will not only beat it around corners but also on straightline.

Wow, you talk about fanboyz, and you are about the worst to come around in a very long time and make all M5 owners look like little 12 year olds that lost their Thomas the Train. Look, 3 challenges have been put out, yet none have been met, so put up or shut up!

Seems to me M5 owners are nothing but a bunch of little pussies right about now.

You are assuming way to much bud,the next E55 will set a new standard for you guys to talk about for the next 5 years,heck the new s63 with that same engine does 0-60 in 4.2 seconds what do you think the lighter E55 will do?

Ohh and the MB has a seven speed mct tranny also

The e55 will have more torque like always,664ftlb vs 550? if there even going to have that much out of there V8

I own an e55 , since when is nitrous cheating? Its a power adder just like a supercharger or a turbo.
